Expect the unexpected. He always told me that, I would always giggle and poke his nose, saying he was silly. He would simple rub his nose against mine. We were the closest we could have been.

Then he went off to save New York and I was sent with a SHIELD Agent. He held me close as we sprinted down the stairs. When all the explosions stopped and everything went quiet, the Agent brought me back up the stairs we had just run down. He put me in my room in the tower, and took off towards the main room.

Soon Agents were filtering in and out, they dragged a man garbed in green, gold and black past my room, I saw only from the sliver of open doorway. Once everything seemed quiet and his friends had left past my door and into the elevator with Director Fury, did I dare sneak out and find him.

He was shifting the pieces of broken couch around, and starring at the gapping whole where the window should be. It was the perfect size of his body…that bad man threw him out the window…didn't he? Well I know who I'm killing when I grow up.

"Daddy?"

He turned. His frown changed to a smile. A big teary eyed smile. He crouched down and I practically leapt into his arms, crying softly. "I thought I wasn't going to see you again. I was so scared."

"There's no reason to be scared pumpkin, I won't let anything hurt you, ever, and even if they did, they would live to regret doing so." He spoke softly, his hands caressing my fur. He stood up, my small body easily fitting into the bend of his arms and the crook of his neck. He stroked my back and head, scratched behind my ears. "No one hurts my little Monster."
