David sat awkwardly across form the two boys he really wished he could simply stay away from, forever. He'd been asked to coffee, talked into it really, since he didn't even like coffee very much. The dark haired boy, Blaine, Kurt's stupid annoying boyfriend, had called him up and asked to talk to him. Over coffee.
Dave stared at them, both sipping weird combinations of caffeine and additives while he sipped tea. Earl Grey. Unsweetened. That's how his mom had always made it and when he was little and wanted to try it, he made himself like it.
"What do you want?" he gruffed at the two boys, glaring across the table, almost as if he'd be able to burn holes into their skulls.
"We just wanted to talk is all, why don't you tell us about yourself." David couldn't help but see Kurt rolling his eyes at Blaine's question. He wished he could do the same, but he'd promised himself that he'd be nicer, a bit kinder and far less violent.
Blaine just smiled wide, his white teeth shining even with all the coffee the boy seemed to consume. "Who's your favorite band?" Blaine offered the question, trying so hard to have a normal conversation. David knew that the dark haired boy wanted to ask more but he was glad the conversation was still simple.
"Favorite band?" he said it more as a statement, trying to filter though the bands he enjoyed to pick out one he always liked, one that was sort of his go-to band of choice. "I really like Tool."
In a split second he watched Kurt spit out his hot drink and suppress a giggle. "You likeā¦" He took a deep breath, the smile spreading wider across his face. "Tools?" His eyes said everything, the want to scream - 'well that's not much of a surprise.' At least Kurt was nice enough to suppress his pointing and laughing and kept it to just giggles
"Tool, Kurt. They're actually a very good band." Blaine elbowed his friend in the ribcage and tried to bring back a lighter mood to their conversation. He turned back to the larger boy at the table and smiled again. "I really loved The Pot. It's still one of the songs I like to listen to when I need some inspiration."
Maybe the Blaine kid wasn't too bad.
