This is just a little thing I wrote years ago. One of the first Fanfics I ever finished. Thanks for reading.
Lt. Templeton "Face" Peck steps out of the elevator at the Veterans Administration Hospital. The only thing on his mind is the scam he's about to pull in order to get his teammate, H.M. Murdock, out of the psych ward.
'Alright, what haven't I used this month?' Face thinks to himself. 'Let's see: Dead uncle, pregnant sister, jailed brother? No, I'm using the family approach way to much.' Face walks down two corridors and through three swinging doors, and he still hasn't thought of anything. 'Okay I'm almost there. Come on Peck, think of something for crying out loud!' Face continues to try to think of scam possibilities.
'What diseases has Murdock had the past few weeks? Tuberculosis, the flu, chicken pox, oh yeah and my personal favorite: Monkey pox. I can't believe B.A. Thought that was a sugary breakfast cereal.' Face laughs to himself as he rounds a corner.
'No, stop laughing. Come on Face, you're almost there.' Face thinks to himself. 'Alright, what could possibly be going on today that could help the scam?' Face stops where he is, which is right next to a window, and he thinks about what day it is.
'Monday, No good.' Face thinks. 'Nothing interesting ever happens on a Monday.' Face continues to walk past all of the doors he is unfamiliar with, to the one he knows.
'Oh great, I'm here, and I still don't have a scam.' Face thinks as he walks through the last doors and up to the nurse's counter.
"Hello sir." The nurse says to Face. "Can I help you?"
'Oh, God. Just smile and think of something!' Face thinks to himself.
'Smile... Smile!' Face thinks.
"Yes, hello ma'am. I'm Dr. Jonas Cavity," Face says. "I'm here to pick up Mr. H.M. Murdock for his dental appointment."
The nurse gives Face a confused look and asks, "Mr. Murdock has an outside dental plan?"
Face's smile widens. "Why yes ma'am. Mr. Murdock has been with us for seven and a half years now." Face says. He checks his watch for emphasis and continues, "Not to rush you ma'am, but the firm has a very tight schedule. If we can't get Mr. Murdock in now we might not be able to fit him in till next year."
The nurse nods in understanding. "Right this way please." She says.
'You did it again.' Fave thinks to himself as he follows the nurse. 'Now all I have to do is keep smiling. Just keep smiling.'
Thanks again for reading. Please review. Bye.
