This is my first attempt at writing Captain Swan fanfiction. While I have written some short stories for another fandom, it's been years since then, so I apologize in advance if my writing might feel rusty in some places. That being said, I hope you enjoy this. :)
Also, I don't own OUAT. This is merely fictional and only for entertainment purposes.
The kiss was everything he had dreamed of, but too afraid to hope for. She was clinging to him as if he was her anchor, so he hugged her even more to him. He poured all the love he felt for Emma in the kiss and he heard a soft moan escape her. He changed the pace of the kiss to slow and languid, so that he could savor an hold her as long as possible. And just as he felt her hands thread in his hair, Emma slowly ended the kiss. Their breaths mingled and she let a soft sigh escape her.
He stood stock still, trying to regain some semblance of control by the time her inevitable retreat would come. He closed his eyes and waited. But instead of retreating, Emma leaned more into his body, so that their foreheads were touching, and her hands were softly caressing the hair and the nape of his neck.
"Please, Killian. I need you to take Henry away from here. I need you both safe. Please do this for me." Although the words were softly whispered against his lips, he heard the plea and desperation behind them. And as always with her, he was incapable of refusing any request she might have of him.
He wanted to stay by her side, fight with her, protect her from the Wicked Witch, but he couldn't deny her this. Not when it was the first thing she had ever asked of him. "As you wish", he whispered as well and leaned in for another kiss.
And this time she met him half way, but only for a quick peck. Emma took a step back from him, her left hand dropping along his right arm, until their fingers were linked. Before she could break completely free, Hook took her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles, never breaking eye contact.
"Be safe, love", he whispered as he let go of her hand. Emma gave him a curt nod, turned and took determined steps towards the door. Just as her hand circled the doorknob, his soft voice broke the silence again. "Oh, and Emma..."
He waited for her to turn around and only when their eyes locked again, did he continue. "I will take good care of the lad and after you defeat the witch, the fun will really begin." Her lips curved in a small smile at his promise. "Good." And when she left, she seemed lighter and more determined for they both knew a fourth kiss was waiting at the end of this tribulation.
