"Ron, I know you don't understand and are going to be very angry at me. I'm sorry but I love him. He has changed so much since the war. He is kind and gentle. He was there for me no matter how hard it got. When we found out that my parents had been killed in a car crash, he held me every time I needed to cry. He took me to Australia so I could fix their tombstone to bear their real names. He helped me study for my NEWTS and he made me dinner every night for two years while I worked on my arithmancy apprenticeship.
When I wanted to live in Muggle London, he bought us a flat and learned to use all the crazy Muggle technology. He even took computer classes at the local Muggle library! He's met my Muggle relatives and they have no idea that he's a wizard, he is able to blend right in with everyone. When my cousin's little girl did accidental magic last Christmas, he was able to explain everything and keep my cousin calm. He works with her little girl twice a week to help her control her magic.
Even your parents have accepted him. I know it was hard for them because they had always wanted you and I to get married but they understood that I had to move on. He asked me to marry him and I said yes. I know I should have told you sooner but I just couldn't find the nerve. The wedding is tomorrow. And I just found out this morning that I am pregnant. I'm hoping it is a little girl.
I'm sorry that it had to end the way it did but I hope that it helps that I am truly happy now. I think we were good enough friends that you would have wanted that for me."
She looked over to where her platinum-haired finance stood and started to walk towards him. With one last look over her shoulder, she whispered good-bye.
