Disclaimer: I do not own Ranger's Apprentice...

Summary: The Ranger's Apprentice crew Horace, Will, and Halt left behind amazing (but mostly untrue) legends behind as they went on their endeavors. This is a collection of bedtime stories told to young children in the places these legendary figures have visited.

Chapter 1: Gallica

"Mommy, tell me a bedtime story." little Tommy said as his mother tucked him into bed.

"All right. Here is the story of the legendary Oakleaf Knight..." his mother started.

"A long time ago, it was a time of danger for all in Gallica. The leaders were lax in punishment and in help for the poor villagers who made a small living. Many knights roamed the villages and roads, thieving on the peasants, demanding favors free of charge, using violence to get whatever they needed.

"Then emerged the glorious Oakleaf Knight from the faraway lands of Seleschia, the glorious land where all had full stomachs and beautiful clothing, and the kingdom was well-ruled and civilized. He was on a quest to rid the world of evil and despair. He arrived in Gallica in the beginning of winter, when everyone did not have enough to eat and get by and the knights raided the most.

"He was a broad-shouldered, handsome man of 18 with brown hair and emerald eyes. He wore shining armor and a full-faced helmet that gleamed in the sun. He rode his beautiful white and polished horse, 17 hands high, sword in hand, valiantly fighting the bandits and Gallican knights day and night. He camped in the forests no matter what the weather, even if it was hailing ice, even if the snow was howling with the wind.

"Along his path through Gallica, many knights confronted him with fares to cross bridges. Without blinking, he charged at these knights and sent them rushing down the rapid rivers with they had guarded. The villagers offered him food and clothing, but he refused, eating the bitterest of roots growing in the cold and icy season.

"It was recorded that he encountered the most ferocious and aggressive knight of all – the evil knight named Deparnieux. He commanded an army of 200 knights and carried a sinister black flag with an image of a bloody sword. He lived in a beautiful stone tower secluded in the dark and haunting forests of Cremator, where no one ever dared to go. As the Oakleaf Knight entered Cremator, he threw his gauntlet at the dark knight. Their fight went on for 3 days and 3 nights.

"As Deparnieux was losing the final day, he called his army to fight the Oakleaf Knight. Seeing so many charging at him, the Oakleaf Knight continued relentlessly, cutting down all two hundred one by one. At last, he defeated Deparnieux and freed Gallica from danger.

So, Tommy, don't ever be scared in Gallica. If any danger ever arises, the Oakleaf Knight will come once again to protect us all."

And there's Horace! Unfortunately, Halt was never mentioned. I wonder if he'll get egotistical over that. Anyways, please review! All review accepted. Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed it. :)
