Here are a few drabbles for a Meme on LJ. All are Mia centric, so I thought I'd post them here. None have titles, but I'll post the prompt I used for each. These are not in chronological order. All are true drabbles (100 words each).
Working on "Theirs". Should post the next chapter sometime in the next week or two. Hopefully this will tide you over. :)
#1: Mia and the man she marries:
Cuddy watched Wilson open the door, all the while thinking it should have been House to greet the young man. Carson Fenley stood there with a nervous smile, kind eyes and a bouquet of flowers.
She wondered what House would have said at that moment; most likely something completely inappropriate. Cuddy stifled a chuckle and a broad grin. No matter how inappropriate, Cuddy wished Mia's Dad could have been there.
"Chip!" Mia called out, running down the stairs.
"Me," Carson said, smiling.
And Cuddy knew, with a sad and equally as happy heart: this was the man Mia would marry.
_______
#2: Mia: a piece she plays for House
They'd argued that very afternoon. He'd promised he'd attend the recital months ago, but in his mood he'd said he wasn't going, sending Mia to her room in tears.
But he was there, unwillingly of course, on the aisle beside Cuddy.
Nine-year-old Mia took the stage, sat at the piano and set her fingers to work, wowing the audience, including her precious uncle.
Once finished, her teacher addressed the audience. "Mia composed this piece, entitled Ode to Uncle House." The audience applauded, Mia bowed, Cuddy gushed.
And though nothing in his demeanor revealed even a hint of it, House beamed.
______
#3: Mia and House: a duet they do together, perhaps for a performance, or maybe just for a gathering of close friends and family.
"But, Uncle House!"
"I said, no."
Mia sat at the living room piano, purposely sitting on the far right of the bench. She toyed with the keys, half-heartedly playing We Wish You A Merry Christmas, striking the wrong note with hope.
House sat next to her, raised his eyebrows in warning and nodded. "Do that again and I'll tell them all you were adopted or something."
Mia returned his smirk.
The party gathered around as the pair played and the guests joined in with song.
Once finished, Mia stood and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, whispering, "I love you."
_______
#4: House/Mia: career choice.
"How did you know?"
House shrugged, not taking his eyes off the TV.
"What if I make the wrong choice?"
"What if you do?"
Mia shrugged.
"Uncle Wilson said I had the brains for anything I wanted."
"What's the problem?"
Mia took the remote and turned the television off before sitting on the coffee table opposite House.
"What if I should be helping people instead of animals?"
"Helping people is overrated."
"You don't want me to be a doctor?"
"I don't want you to be miserable."
"You're miserable being a doctor?"
"You'd be miserable being anything other than a vet."
