The Reason: A Nick and Zoe Fic
Sometimes its hard to decide whether or not I could except the fact that Nick had moved on when I left. No I could accept that because this is how it was supposed to go. I planned it perfectly to get the world moving the right the way.
I stood on the stage looking at him in the audience as I sat down. I moved my fingers along the string silently preparing myself, this is the first tour we'd been on that would be passing Seattle, I hadn't expected him to come. Maybe he wanted to talk about the kids, or maybe he was afraid I'd cause some sort or drama before him and his girlfriend, whatever her name was, I didn't care enough to go through the pain that would come with remembering it.
The music began to play and I closed my eyes calming my heart and the racing thoughts, and more importantly my soul as a whole.
I'm not a perfect person,
There's many things I wish I didn't do,
But I continue learning,
I never meant to do those things to you,
That's why I want you to know,
I stood. The one good thing that came from this is that he no longer finds me as perfect as he did but that doesn't mean that I'm nt trying or that I'm forgetful that it's my fault he's gone.

As the girls joined me in their singing I finally gained the courage to open my eyes.

I finally looked at him his bright blue eyes shining in the light the thoughts dancing across his face, conflicted, battling with himself.

Nick looked down at the ground as the crowd cheered and I looked down at my guitar wiping my eyes. This changed nothing.
