Fumikage Tokoyami sometimes hated his appearance. He wasn't insecure or anything. Nononono. He just hated eating with his beak in the way.
When he was younger and learning how to eat and drink food by himself, he always had to eat his food from the side of his mouth.
He also couldn't drink anything without a straw until he was 8 and learned how to waterfall his drinks.
Tokoyami also hates how he could never eat ice cream without a spoon. He'll never get the joy of getting ice cream on his face unless he does it on purpose.
The emo birb always complained about his head when he was younger. "Mother, my forsaken abnormal cranium has made it difficult for my life to be normal. May I ask how this incident had happened?" asked a baby Fumikage. His mom gave him the same reply, "It's genetics and stop reading your father's poems. Your turning into one of those dark goth people that are always depressing."
Dark Shadow didn't make his situation better. With them two always with each other, Dark Shadow never seems to stop making fun of his "master." Everytime Fumi wanted to eat his favorite food, apples, and was too lazy to cut them up, D.S (Dark Shadow) would emerge from the bird-headed boy and just laughed. "HAHAHA! YOU CAN'T EAT THAT THING WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE SHIT! HAHAHA!" He laughed."It's not my fault I was forsaken with this hellish curse. And you can't even eat so shut your mouth."
But one of the worst parts was the it was really akwards when Fumikage wanted to kiss his boyfriend, Mezo Shouji. Hell they both looked weird. They could never kiss on the lips cause the bird boi didn't have any and the taller masked boi didn't ever want to take his mask off in front of anyone.
The couple decided to stick with kisses on the cheek, caused by onlh Mezo when they were in public and by both when they were alone.
However, the one time they try to kiss normally (or as normal as they can get) Shouji made Tokoyami close his eyes so he couldn't see this face under his mask.
"I don't understand what kind of burden you could hide under that mask of despair that makes you think you're so hideous." Tokoyami replied after his bf's request. "It's for something that I'm not willing to share just yet" was his answer.
So the bird close his eyes and the octopus tried his best to kiss him. He moved his mouth around to try and see what would work, but the top part of the other's beak. Instead Mezo just kiss the top part and said "This isn't gonna work. Your beak gets in the way." Tokoyami looked disappointed, "For such a thing to bring us both to be distraught should not exist. I apologize Mezo."
The pair just decided to cuddle the rest of the night, which another struggle a cured because of the back of Fumikage's head is pointy and uncomfortable when touched by someone. So they face each other. Snuggling heart to heart.
