Thoughts Of A Time Lord

It was just supposed to be a quick trip to New York to take a break from the usual running and adventure. But it had became so much worse.

The Doctor was inside the TARDIS with River after the incident. "How could I let this happen?" The Doctor piped up.

River was flying the TARDIS since he was in no state to fly. "Sweetie, you tried. It was her decision." River spoke calmly while treading over to him.

"They were your parents. How are you not affected?" The Doctor asked.

"I know that I will see them again. Time line anomalies and such." River spoke swiftly.

The TARDIS made a low humming noise as if agreeing with River. "So, where are we? Do I just drop you back off and Stormcage? He questioned with dread.

He knew that she would leave just like everyone else. Why cant she just stay, he thought, though he knew the answer to.

"Doctor? You know that I cant stay. I need to travel on my own. I know too much of your future and you know too much of mine for me to stay." River explained.

She stood up and walked briskly to the console. With a thud the TARDIS landed outside her cell and River went to leave.

"Doctor? Don't travel alone. Ever. Goodbye, sweetie." With that River left and the Doctor didn't know if she would ever return.

I guess I could go stay with Vastra. She doesn't hate me. He thought. "Old girl, put in a course to go stay with Vastra but park somewhere in the clouds so that I'm hidden." The Doctor spoke to the TARDIS.

She responded with a hum and took off. She created a cloud and parked upon it. "Ah, I do fancy a nice cloud above Victorian London..." he trailed off somberly.

The Doctor then proceeded to close the doors and go to the library to read.

After that, he rarely left. Only to go off and visit Vastra, Jenny, and Strax every so often. The old Timelord went out once a month to stroll around the city.

Only once was he ever spotted. And that was by a young lady by the name of Clara Oswin Oswald.
