Disclaimer If I owned Harry Potter, Sirius, Remus, Tonks and Fred would not be dead. I guess you can figure out the rest.

A/N: Well, this is a one-shot poem that I wrote about two days after Christmas. It's from the point of view of Harry just after Sirius falls through the veil. I have tried to clarify who is speaking at each time, but if there is any confusion please let me know. Oh, and if anyone knows how to get spaces between the stanzas, could you please let me know? I've tried double spacing but it doesn't seem to work. Thanks :) Also, I love reviews. So tell me what you think!

You fall behind the veil

I see the stunned look on your face

But I know that this is just some game

Even though you've vanished without a trace

Am I going crazy?

Or am I just in denial?

You're hiding behind the curtain

You'll come out after awhile

I wait and I wonder

Why is it taking so long?

Remus tries to tell me you're gone

But I know that he is wrong

I know that you're still here

I know you would never leave

You promised you'd always be there

And I know you would never deceive

C'mon Sirius, enough playing

You've been behind there for forever!

Okay, you've got me, I'm starting to worry

Come, we'll go home together.

SIRIUS! Why aren't you listening to me?

Tell me, what did I do?

SIRIUS! Please, I need you here

Please, not you too.

Sirius, they're dragging me away

Come; show them you're not dead

You would never just leave like that

There's been so much left unsaid

SIRIUS! I'm yelling for you

I'm screaming, my voice has gone hoarse

SIRIUS! I'm crying for you

I'm struggling with all of my force

"Harry" you breathe, soft in my ear

"REMUS, I HEAR HIM, I DO"

"Harry, he's gone" Remus replies

Why won't he accept it's not true?

Why would he lie to me, Sirius?

He knows how much you mean

You're my hope, my light, my strength

The only father-figure I've ever seen

Remus wouldn't lie to me

I know it; he's your best friend

But that must mean….OH GOD, NO, SIRIUS

No, this can't be the end

Sirius, I just met you

You can't be gone already

Sirius, I can't let you go

I know that I'm not ready

Why were you taken away from me?

Why is this always the way?

I know that it's my fault again

And I'll never forgive myself for today

"Remus, I can hear his voice,

The veil is flickering, see!"

"Harry, there's nothing there,

I promise, please, trust me"

He promises? What does that mean?

You promised you'd always be here

And now you've gone, I'm all alone

Promises just leave me with fear

I've tried to pretend, but I guess I know

That you're not here anymore

I know that if I called for you

You'd answer me for sure

But Sirius, what will I do

Without you I cannot survive

Sirius, please take me too

Without you I don't feel alive

"Stay strong for me, my cub"

Your voice whispers in my ear

"I'll try Sirius, I really will,

"But tell me you'll stay near"

"I promise, my cub, I promise

I'll be right here to the end"

"Don't promise me anything Sirius

On promises I can't depend"

"But I do promise, dear Harry

I promise to care and love

You parents and I in heaven

Will look down at you from above"

And somehow, even though it's a promise

I know that I can trust you

I know you'll care and love me

And guide me through everything new

Sometimes when I think of you

My heart goes as cold as ice

But then I think of those memories

Little, but they'll have to suffice

It always at night that I hear you clear

Coming from somewhere afar

"Harry, don't worry, I'm still with you

Just look for your dog star".
