A Night under the Stars

Anna/Yoh (One-shot)
Every night, I sit outside and stare at the dark sky that twinkles with stars and is sometimes graced by the presence of the full moon. It is on those nights that spirits wander more freely. It is at this time that I feel the most at ease. Tonight is no different than any other night, except that Yoh is out, he is usually in his room listening to music or talking to Amidamaru, but not tonight. I am not sure where he has gone, but I let him be. He is tied to me as my fiancé and I feel I've become to burden him. I feel weak and worthless, I am weak, I tried to train Yoh, but for what?
"Anna, are you out here?" a voice calls into the night.
"Hai," I reply, turning in response to my name and find Yoh standing by the house staring at me. He comes and sits by my side, and turns his face upward to stare at the night sky.
"It's pretty, isn't it?" he asks. When I don't respond he keeps quiet for about 5 minutes and then he takes my hand in his. Once I don't pull away, he intertwines his fingers through mine.
"Why are you here?" I ask.
"I'm staying here," he calmly replies.
"You know what I mean." I cannot keep the frustration from my voice and he looks at me from the corner of his eye, "I was worried about you. You've seemed even more distant lately."
"…" I sigh, closing my eyes and breathing deeply, "Why not leave? Forget about the marriage?"
"Why?"
"Why?" I repeat, staring at him, "Why not?"
"I like you, Anna, really, yes, you're hard on me, and we've had a lot of rough times, but you're there for me."
"Hm," I answer, once again looking at the stars.
Yoh gets up and stretches, I say nothing, and remain seated. He stands for a minute and turns to go, but turns back around to place a kiss on my cheek and lays something on the ground next to me, then leaves. Once he is in the house, I look at the item he has left behind, it is a small red journal, with a single white rose inside. Inside the cover of the book he has written 'To my Anna,' I smile to myself and take the gift with me into my room. I lay it on my nightstand and lay in my bed, 20minutes later my door silently opens and I can make out the silhouette of Yoh in the doorway. I close my eyes as he sneaks into my room and tells me goodnight. At the door he stalls before he finally closes it.
"Goodnight, Yoh," I whisper quietly and wishes that he could've heard me, but I know that he hasn't. Finally, sleep engulfs me and I dream of a life without Yoh and I am alone for eternity and I learn just how special Yoh really is to me.
