Tony was busying himself sorting wrenches and screwdrivers on his desk when her brilliant red hair was visible through the glass windows of the staircase.

"I thought you said you were going out tonight," Natasha said as she entered the room with swift, calculated motions.

"Pepper was, uh, busy," Tony said, turning to his computer to pretend to look busy, but truthfully, he wished he'd be invited upstairs during game night sometimes.

"You don't have to stay down here every night," Natasha replied cooly.

"Tell that to Capsicle," Tony said, beginning a new project file.

"He doesn't hate you," Natasha said easily.

"Thought that was your title," Tony tossed back.

"I don't hate you, but would it kill you to try and get to know these people? Just because you save the world together doesn't mean you know every detail about them!" Natasha said angrily, her hands shaking in fury.

"Exactly, just because we save the world together, there is no good reason to get to know them," Tony threw back, trying to look busy.

"Would you stop typing and listen to me?" Natasha asked reproachfully.

"What?" Tony asked, tired of the ongoing discussion.

"Come upstairs, just for a few minutes, and if you have to you can come back after that," Natasha said with a beg behind her words.

"Five minutes," Tony said, almost happy to be begged by the famous black widow.

He entered the dining room where Bruce, Steve, Clint, Thor, and Natasha were sitting around a table opening a box labeled Monopoly.

Oh boy, I loved this game as a kid! Tony thought to himself, silencing sitting down and taking the fake money necessary to begin.

By the end of the game, everyone but Tony was becoming tired and grouchy.

"Oh, just take it!" Clint said, throwing his boardwalk property card at Tony, "I'm loosing anyway."

"Thor, you're out," Steve said to the demigod when he lost his last dollar.

"But I wish to continue playing," Thor said.

"You're out, you can't continue," Bruce said, holding onto his last few 100 dollar bills himself.

"And... that's the game! Sorry guys, but I'm the best at being rich," Tony said, emptying the FREE PARKING spot and taking Bruce's last bills.

"Good game," Tony said with a big smile on his face.

The rest of the avengers threateningly placed their hands over their weapons and then...

Let's just say the avengers won't be playing monopoly for a while...
