Hello everyone,
This is an idea that has been brewing in my head for a while and I am finally beginning to type it out. It's set near London in an AU where Loki's ideology has spread and gained followers, whether they wanted to or not.
I know the phrase "OC heavy" is a problem for some readers and I hate to disappoint readers when I say that a story is "OC heavy" I really mean it: there are only one or two appearances from cannon characters and many are only referenced to.

I don't think I ever believed in a god. The idea always seemed a bit ludicrous to me, that big men in the sky look down on us. The past months have not changed that part of me, no matter what poison we are fed each day through the loud speakers that line our campus. To me any guy who claims to be a god is just that, a normal guy. Be that a homicidal maniac with delusions of grandeur, so not very normal at all then.

Breakfast is at 6:45 sharp every morning. We assemble in our allocated canteen and wait for our rations to be dished out. It's nothing special, usually being porridge or stewed potatoes; low in fat, high in starch. Occasionally we get bacon or kippers to eat but that's extremely rare, our officers get all the best food.

I take my seat next to my friend George who smiles at me as I sit down. "Mornin' Camilla." He says.

"Mornin'." I waste no time in frantically spooning the thin, grey sludge into my mouth. "You have a good sleep?"

"The usual," George's roommate, Rashim, sighs. "slightly broken and dissatisfying." He raises his arms in front of him, imitating a zombie. "You were made to be ruled, you are not designed to have power." He drones.

"So, crap then?"

"Yup." The two of them collapse into low chuckles. I refrain, focusing on getting as much food into me in the half an hour time limit. Rashim tries to open a conversation with Imogen who is sitting next to him, she responds but her heart does not seem to be in it, just nodding at whatever Rashim says. She's been here longer than most of us and has retreated deep into her shell. I think that's what this place does to people, takes the fight straight out of them until only a shell is left.
