Runo sat on the swing in the old playground she used to love as a kid. Sure, Dan use to make fun of her by calling her "Kid," but it still had a lot of fond memories. It was where she had been when the
bakugan had come from the sky. It was also where she had gone on her first date with Dan. That was the first time she could remember not only wearing her hair down, but wearing a dressy outfit. Looking up
toward the sun, she gave the sun a smile, today was just great.
"Hey, you okay?" an uber-femine voice asked to her left. Runo turned her head to see Julie, still clad in her never ending wardrobe of pink.
"Ya Julie, I am… Just thinking while I wait for Dan to come by," Runo said, kicking off her shoes o the side and burying her toes in the sand. She gave a content sigh and wiggled her buried toes.
"You know Runo, the way he looks at you is so adorable," Julie's voice came distantly, "I swear he looks more and more like a love struck puppy every day."
Runo giggled, "I could say the same about Billy… Who ever thought that they would still act like this after all this time."
"Yea, he is so cute when he doesn't want me to leave his sight… but to tell the truth it does get a little annoying. What about Dan?" Julie asked, sliding her feet out of her shoes and socks.
"He hasn't gotten to be like that yet, after all he knows I will just end up calling Shun on him," Runo giggled.
Julie laughed, "Ya, maybe I should call Shun on Billy so that I can have a night out."
"No drinking Jules," Runo reminded her friend.
"I would never! Runo!" Julie exclaimed, her face looking horrified.
"I know Jules, just reminding you," Runo said softly.
"Oh- hey, look Runo, our boys are here," Julie commented as she stood up, not bothering to bed down for her shoes. Runo leaned down and grabbed them before handing them to her friend who took them
and immediately waddled over to her "boy". Runo smiled as they embraced each other awkwardly and began walking on the soft turf to their neighborhood. Watching Dan quietly approach, she turned around
and lightly pushed her feet against the ground, smiling at the light airy feeling that followed. After a moment, she felt the metal chains halted and twisted her head to see Dan standing right behind her. With a
soft smile she took one of his hands and held it in her's.
"How much longer until Billy realizes that Julie isn't going to break?" Dan asked as Runo softly rubbed his hand.
"Two months," Runo said, placing his hand on her slightly flat stomach and laying her's on top of his.
"I promise to try and not end up like Billy," Dan said, leaning his head down onto her neck.
"You can try, but I think it'll happen anyways," Runo said, turning her head toward his.
"How do you know? Julie's two months away, you're what, eight?" Dan asked, his breath gently caressing her skin.
"I know because it's what all good fathers and husbands go through," Runo replied, thinking of how in eight and a half months, she and Dan would not just be a family of two twenty year olds. They would be
a family of parents with a little one running around… just like they had as children.
…. Review, this was totally spur of the moment….
