"Bleh!" James shouted as Sirius burst into laughter.
"Now, who are you in love with?" Sirius asked with a quirked eyebrow.
Just moments ago Sirius and James had snuck down to the dungeons and took the veritaserum from Professor Slughorns' personal supply and now Sirius was testing it out on James in the common room.
James snorted, "That's easy, I, James Potter, am in love with the beautiful Lily Evans," as James answered, Sirius slowly snuck around that room Lily, who was sitting in one of the poofy arm chairs, rolled her eyes then went back to reading.
"Who is the bestest friend you will ever have?" Sirius asked, smirking.
"Moony!"
"Oi!"
"And of course my Padsie-foot!" James added sweetly with a smile.
Sirius glared at James, and Remus came stumbling down the stairs, "Now what are you doing?" he asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Well," Sirius answered shooting Remus his most dazzling smile, "James and I got bored while you were taking a nap, so, we used the cloak and took some veritaserum, and I gave some to James!"
The common was slowly begining to fill up as it grew darker outside.
Remus' eye twitched. Then, there was an awkward silence, "Why Sirius, just why?"
"I like butterflies!" James shouted out.
Sirius burst into laughter, "Because it's funny Moony!" Suddenly he leaned over to whisper into Remus' ear, That and I needed a distraction to be able slide some into Evans' drink,"
"You didn't!" Remus gasped, throwing a hand over his mouth to hide the smile that was slowly creeping onto his face.
"Oh, I did," Sirius' face lit up with an evil grin and they both turned to watch Lily slowly take a sip from her goblet, "we needed to find a way to get the truth out of her, and what works better than a truth serum?"
"My lovely Lily- flower, do you really hate me?" James suddenly shouted out.
"No James, I actually really like you, but I'm in denial, so I make it seem that way," Lily threw a hand over her mouth as James did a victory dance and everyone else gasped.
"And I also know a secret about Remus!" James tripped and fell to the floor, before shooting back up to stare at Lily wide eyededly, "He sleeps with..." the room went silent, "a teddy bear!"
A resounding smack could be heard then everyone burst into laughter.
