A/N: This is my first fanfic, so please review and tell me what I can do better! This is based off the song "A House Is Not a Home" that Kurt sings in the first season of Glee. I own nothing!

Kurt climbed the stairs to his apartment. His apartment? The way that made him feel so alone was slowly beginning to tear him apart. Turning the key in the door, he entered the small apartment. He was greeted by a gloomy silence that hung over the room like fog. The armchair that they had once shared sat in the corner. It no longer held the wonderful glow that made it so warm; so welcoming.

Blaine was gone.

Kurt hadn't meant to hurt him; that was never his intention. It just seemed like they were drifting so far apart that he couldn't stand it anymore. The late nights out, the missed phone calls, the lack of communication. Everything was going downhill.

Kurt sat down on the chair. Memories flooded back to him. Blaine. How he missed holding him. The feeling of security. The laughs, the fun. The love that they shared was the first and only true love that Kurt had ever felt, and now it was gone.

Blaine had left him, and Kurt knew it was his fault. Why had he been so stupid? He wished he knew where Blaine was. He could be anywhere, and Kurt had the feeling it wasn't anywhere close. "Where are you Blaine?" Kurt asked to himself, his voice barely a whisper.

Leaving the chair, he walked towards the door to the small bedroom. Picturing Blaine's perfect face, he kept telling himself that when he opened the door Blaine would be sitting on the bed, waiting for him to be home. That Blaine would still be in love with him.

Opening the door, Kurt was once again welcomed to silence and an empty bed. He looked around the room. On the bedside table was a picture of them together. They looked so happy. Kurt could only wonder how everything just gone so wrong. Next to the frame, a small stone. Courage was engraved into it.

Kurt climbed into the bed and curled up. He felt engulfed by a sea of blankets; the bed seemed as large as an ocean without Blaine sleeping next to him. Kurt felt as though he were drowning.

Silent tears began to fall. As a single teardrop hit the pillow below him, Kurt closed his eyes. It would be a long while before he would fall asleep.
