Author's Note:

Hello! This is my first ever attempt at a fanfiction, so here's hoping you enjoy it!

The Boo-boo

"Owie!" A young Roxas cried out; landing hard on his hands and knees as he attempted to break his fall against the concrete of the playground. Sniffling, he fought the tears that pricked up in his eyes. Just then, Axel swung down nimbly from the monkey bars. He spotted Roxas, holding his knees and trying hard not to cry.

"Roxas, are you okay?" Axel asked, voice full of concern. It was at that moment that Roxas couldn't take it anymore. He burst into tears in front of Axel.

"Noooo!" He wailed. "I have a boo-boo on my knee!" His little hands clutched tight around his left knee as his body shook with sobs.

"Let me see your boo-boo, Roxas," Axel said calmy. Roxas looked up at him with big, wet eyes, and slowly removed his hands from his knee.

"It hurts," he whimpered.

"It's okay, Roxas," Axel soothed. "It's only a little scratch." Regardless of this attempt at calming his crying, Roxas continued to sob. Without thinking, Axel leaned down to Roxas' knee and placed a gentle kiss there. Roxas stopped his crying and looked at Axel, bewildered.

"What was that for?"

"I wanted to make you feel better," Axel explained.

"Um, Axel," Roxas asked, "can I have one here?" He touched his lips, which were slightly pouty. Axel smiled, glad he calmed Roxas down, and gave him a small, soft peck on the lips. Roxas beamed. "Thank you, Axel! Let's go and play on the playground again!" Axel smiled, shaking his head slightly, amazed by the fact that Roxas wanted to go back where he had gotten hurt.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," he grinned. "He's so cute," Axel thought as he ran after him. "I love him!" Little did he know, at that moment, Roxas was thinking the very same thing about him.
