Hey! So this is a short little one-shot that I thought up in my creative writing class. Read and review!
Ally's POV
I felt myself falling. Not the "free-falling" that gives you all the peace in the world. Not the kind of falling that makes you feel that all of your burdens are being lifted off your shoulders. No. I, of course, had to be feeling the "panicked-falling" that makes you terrified for the inevitable pain and emmbarrasment that will overtake you as soon as the floor catches up with you. It is also the type of fall that you never ever want to perform in public. Complete with the wildly flailing arms and the piercing girlish shriek that makes everyone in your high school lunch room turn and focus on you.
It was that type of fall.
I continued to cry out in fear as the floor approached faster and faster. I closed my eyes and pulled my arms into my chest to brace myself for my impending collision with the cold, tiled floor. I fully expected my short descent to end with a splat on the unforgiving ground until something happened that I did not expect.
I stopped falling. What had saved me from my painful landing and swift elimination of my small dignity?
My eyes snapped open. I looked down to see two muscular arms wrapped around me in a warm embrace. I looked up to see the owner of the arms smirking at me. I recognized him instantly. He had shaggy blond hair and kind eyes. His name was Austin Moon- resident hottie and most perfect guy in my grade. He was in a couple of my classes, but he was also way higher in the high school "food chain" than me. I also knew that he had a girlfriend. The most perfect girl in our grade, Cassidy Helms. He had never associated with me or anyone like me. So why was I laying in his arms right now?
He steadied me so I could stand upright and he released me slowly, making sure I wouldn't fall again.
"You really shouldn't be going around tripping like that. You might hurt someone", he said jokingly. And with that he slipped past me, leaving me in the middle of the lunch room in a trance of utter confusion.
