Buffy rolled out of bed to find Kathy missing. "Good," she said in a loud voice. "No more shitty music for me."
She walked around the room, stretching and decided to put some decent tunes on so she could get ready. Kathy could be in the bathroom down the hall, so Buffy decided to make do with their small room sink this morning. She'd showered the night before so that wasn't a problem.
Courtney Love's voice poured through Buffy's speakers as she put her hair in a ponytail and washed her face. After she brushed her teeth and put her makeup on, she changed into a black sweater and flowered skirt. She slid into her boots and smiled at her reflection. Then she pinned the sweater up a couple of inches so she was showing some skin. She grabbed her bag and rushed out so she would make psyche on time.

Later that evening, everyone gathered at Giles' to go over some new demon that could possibly being the one Buffy had tried to defeat the other night. She didn't want to go over there, these people were so damned boring! Still, she forced herself to walk to his apartment. She let herself in and sat at the table with everyone else.
"Were you at the library, Buffy?" Giles asked.
"No."
"You're an hour late."
"So?"
"Buffy, when we make plans--"
"Who died and made you my father?" she snapped. "I don't need someone putting me on a schedule."
"Buffy," Xander, Oz and Willow all said in unison.
"Buffy, I only meant--"
"To try and run things." she stood up. "You were trying to be the all perfect Watcher, just like always. You're always right and I'm always wrong."
"Buffy--" he was stunned by her attitude.
"Buffy, are you okay?" Willow asked.
"Never felt better. Except for that insane roommate of mine."
"Yes, about that--" Giles started to speak but she cut him off.
"You can shut up." she turned to Xander. "And you! What is this "non-college-guy" shit?? Are you too good for the college or too stupid to be accepted?"
"Buffy." Willow looked hurt enough for everyone in the room, and that was nothing compared to the look on Xander's face.
"Why do you always do that?" Buffy demanded.
"Do what?" Willow asked innocently as always.
"Always try and protect everyone. It's not your place to be their savior."
"I'm only--"
"Buffy, maybe you should go." Oz said, standing up and putting an arm around his girlfriend.
"That's exactly what I was thinking." she smiled at them and left.
"Who the Hell was that?" Xander asked.
"A demon?" Willow asked hopefully.
"Doubtful." Giles put his glasses back on and picked up another book. "We'll just have to keep looking."
"Look quickly," Xander said. "My ego may not survive the next blow."
