She took an unexpected ride,
Suffering intense headaches,
Because of abilities she makes.
She lay down once on her bed,
And then she found her body spread
On the floor of the living room,
Which seemed to be her all-out doom.

Bartered for her, whatever the cost,
But Kitty chose Xavier's school
Over the front for the Hellfire fools.
Brilliant, innocent, optimistic,
Courageous and opportunistic,
With the X-Men Kitty felt at home,
The bravest people she had known.
When her parents filed for divorce,
The X-Men adopted her, of course.
And Colossus, her steel knight,
Swept her off her feet at night.
Phase-shifting to pass through things,
Walking on air as if she had wings,
She even learned computer skills,
While learning how to fight and kill.
Loving X-Men with all her might,
Friends to her they were, all right.
Shadowcat believed in peaceful life,
Between human and mutant alike.
