One would think that three months would be enough for a horrible chain of nightmares to get tired of tormenting its victim. Hell, why would those nightmares even pick a beautiful, innocent boy as its victim? A boy with hair like chocolate and eyes like the sky; a boy who worked so hard to save his friends.
Maybe nightmares had a horribly twisted sense of humor. Maybe they liked to wake up the boy with torturously painful dreams night after night and listen to his bloodcurdling screams. They must have laughed while fear invaded his mind and shook him to the core.
The dreams always started the same way, in a dark corridor with moonlight flooding in through huge windows that overlooked a black sea. With every footstep, the sound echoed and bounced of the pillars that supported a large balcony over looking the hall. On the balcony was a very familiar memory; A memory with silver hair and sea green eyes.
Then, everything would change. The dark hall would turn windowless and pristine white. The balcony would be gone and Riku would be standing directly in front of him, his lips curled into a cruel grin, and his arms smugly crossed. Sora would say his name, half in joy, and half in terror.
"Riku…"
Then, Riku would attack. Not with the Keyblade that signified the complete opposite of light, but with every heart crushing insult he could think of. They could penetrate Sora's strong heart and invade every fear and every terror, surfacing them and attacking them again.
And then he would wake up and the fits and screaming would begin. He would sob and scream until he had scarcely enough energy to fall asleep again. This all started 2 weeks after returning to Destiny Islands, after Sora and Riku had finally reunited and everything seemed to fall back into place. But the nightmares...
They were tearing him apart.
