1. Neighbours
The screech of an energy ball hitting the brick wall reached her ears. She flinched, knowing there were still demons alive as she hid behind the large garbage bin. There was the noise of someone fighting the demons, then... another energy ball then a thud.
She saw the person fighting land, their glassy eyes facing her.
He breathed deeply as the morning sun warmed his muscles as he stood out on the porch. Looking to his right, where he heard voices, he saw a moving truck. Figuring he had new neighbours, and his mom would be mad if he didn't tell her, Chris turned back around and walked into the manor.
Walking into the kitchen, he found his mother, cleaning up after breakfast. "Mom, we have new neighbours."
"We do? Oh thank you for telling me. I'll making cookies and we can all go over and greet them," his mother replied before looking closely at her second born. "Honey, are you alright, you look pale."
"I'm fine, honest, just didn't get a good sleep last night," Chris assured.
"The dreams again?"
"Yeah."
Chris left the room, going up to his bedroom to read. The 'dream's were not so much dreams as memories. Memories of another time line that never came to be, thankfully. But since the him in that time line had went to the past to change the future, and died, he was stuck with getting the memories back, and had been since his thirteenth birthday, over three years ago.
Some memories were good, like the time he got to spend with his mother and his aunts in the past, but others not so much, like seeing his big brother evil. Another good thing, at least in his mother's eyes, was that he was able to find out the only reason his other self loved Bianca was because of a spell. The feelings he had for her were actually for someone else, but were manipulated to seem like they were for the demon.
It was the other girl, one he couldn't remember the face of, which he had been dreaming of the night before. He was pretty sure it was the first time they met, but he wasn't sure. He couldn't even remember her name, and he didn't know if she was alive in the changed future.
Four chapters of his book later (mind you, he reads fast), he found his mother knocking on his door, telling him to get ready to go meet the neighbours. He obliged by putting down his book and walking down stairs to where his brother and father were.
Before he could ask where his sister was, his mother, and sister walked down the stairs, his mother picking up a tray of cookies off the table as she did.
"How'd you cook so fast?" Chris asked.
His mother just smiled at him, not confessing that she had magical help.
"There better be hot guys in the family 'cause I was getting ready for a party," whined Melinda.
"You're fourteen, you're too young to be going to parties," replied Wyatt, going into over-protective brother mode.
"Birthday party!" Melinda retorted, etherising the birthday.
Chris just laughed at their banter as they neared the moving truck where three girls were. All three girls had black hair, although one had brown streaks, another had wavy hair and the other had plain black. The one with plain black hair, who was wearing a pink sun dress, saw them first.
"Hi, I'm Daisy Blackrose," she introduced herself, smiling widely.
"Hi, I'm Piper Halliwell," the witch replied, "And this is Leo Wyatt, my husband, and these are my children Wyatt, Chris and Melinda Halliwell."
The eldest out of the girls, the one with brown streaks, stepped forward. "Nice to meet you, I'm Daphne, and this is Danielle." She gestured to the wavy haired girl. A honey brown haired girl appeared out of the house, wearing a baggy grey hoodie and three-quarter denim pants. "That's Dylan, the third eldest."
"I'm guessing you're the eldest?" Wyatt asked the girl, taking in her mature stance and features."
"Yep." Danielle nodded her head, and answered for Daphne. "She's twenty-four, I'm twenty-one, Dylan's twenty, Daisy is eighteen, and our baby sister is sixteen."
At that point Chris had to hold his head, for there was an image of his other life flickering before his eyes. No one noticed but his dad, who was always looking out for him.
"Are you alright?" Leo whispered as Piper asked the neighbours another question.
"Where are your parents?"
The Blackrose kids all looked crestfallen as Chris' head spun.
"They, um," Daisy started.
"Dad skipped out and mom croaked!"
The Halliwells, and the Blackroses, Dylan standing away from the rest having picked up a box off the lawn, looked over to the truck. Out of the back jumped another girl. This girl was the same age as Chris and had ink black hair that had a wave to it, a side fringe, a fair complexion and very pale blue eyes that had a thick black rim around them. One thing that blemished her appearance was the split eyebrow she had, hidden under her fringe.
As Daphne rolled her eyes and sighed out the girl's name in exasperation, Chris also whispered something, "Dawn!"
Leo looked at his son upon hearing his word then he looked at the teenager, who was scolding.
"Don't Dawn me!" snapped the girl, frowning at her sister.
"Mom didn't croak, she died," Daphne explained.
"How would you know?" hissed the young girl before she grabbed a box out of the back of the truck and went inside, pushing her way passed her siblings.
"Sorry," Dylan apologised, joining her siblings. "Dawn's taking mom's death the hardest. She's developed a bit of an attitude."
"My sister, the second youngest, did the same when my mum died," Piper assured.
"Not the youngest?" Danielle asked in shock.
"She is my half sister and was put up for adoption. Complicated." A silence fell, no one but Leo noticing that Chris had a headache from the images. Piper broke it. "Oh, cookies, I baked cookies."
"Thank you," Daisy replied, accepting the plate. "Please, come inside, it might be a little messy though."
"That's alright, so is my room," joked Melinda making Daisy chuckle.
"Well that makes me feel a bit better." Daisy led the Halliwells into the house, Leo and Chris staying behind without anyone noticing.
"Are you going to be okay?" Leo asked his son, who was rubbing his temples.
"Dawn..."
"Do you know her?"
"I... I don't know," Chris admitted. "I just looked at her and thought Dawn."
"What did you see when you had a vision?" Leo put his hand on his son shoulder, using his healing touch that he had had since before he died.
"I don't remember, it flashed to fast." The boy shook his head and looked at his dad. "I'm going to go back to bed."
"Alright, I'll tell your mum," Leo assured, letting his son walk back over to their house, his eyes never leaving the young boy till he was in the house. Satisfied that his son was at least safe inside, the ex-Elder turned and made his way into his new neighbour's home, ignoring the fact that it was also Dan's old house.
"Where's Chris?" Piper asked the moment she saw him appear.
"He's not feeling too well so his gone back to bed," Leo told her, not wishing to divulge the real reason in front of strangers.
"Okay," Piper said slowly, knowing Leo wasn't saying everything. "Umm, I used to know someone living in this house... it only has four bedrooms."
Leo coughed at the subtle mention of Dave as Daphne gave a slight chuckle. "We've converted the attic into a bedroom... which means we've just put bedroom stuff in there."
"I wouldn't be brave enough to sleep in an attic, it's got a creepy ring to it," Melinda joked. "Which one of you is the victim?"
"That would be me!" said a voice from the doorway to the kitchen. "But luckily I don't still believe in monsters under my bed."
"Dawn," Daphne scolded. "Be nice."
"Whatever! I'm riding over to Sam's." Dawn walked briskly passed, grabbing a leather jacket off a pile of boxes as she did.
"Oh, I would love to come, but I hate your bike," Daisy stated, looking longingly at the prospect of visiting their friend.
"Well that's your problem." The youngest Blackrose stated, striding out of the house, slamming the door behind her.
The four other Blackrose girls reacted differently to their sister's departure. Daphne looked annoyed, Danielle looked uncomfortable, Dylan took exasperated, and Daisy looked sad.
"She's normally really nice," Dylan assured. "It's just... she..."
"Had the least amount of time with your mother and is acting out?" Piper sympathised, though she quirked an eyebrow at the sound of a motor bike starting up.
"I'm glad you understand," Danielle appreciated. "She really is a sweet girl, always a little rough around the edges though. And her bike is an actual motor bike."
"Interesting," Wyatt muttered.
I got bored and this idea popped into my head. I didn't like Bianca so Chris was forced to love her. It helps me sleep at night. LOL
