This is an "Alter-Reality" stories that deviates from the original Land of the Lost TV Series (1974-1976).
These stories are written with the assumption the reader has some knowledge and/or recollection of the original live-action Saturday morning television series "The Land of the Lost" and its first two seasons (1974/75. NOT the movie/and not the second television series). And since "Heather" replaced "Uncle Jack," the 3rd season (1976) of the show never happened as it originally played out in this alter-reality.

Third year stranded in the Land of The Lost ….
The setup:A terrible distortion of the timeline has happened once more. After Will and Holly's father disappeared through the door of time a mysterious teenage girl, Heather Faith Dangerfield, appeared instead of Uncle Jack; time has twisted and tumbled down an alien and different path for the Marshalls…
Summary Setup (Season 3):
A strange twisting and bending of time brings Heather Faith Dangerfield face-to-face with Will and Holly Marshall. After a brief skirmish with a large tentacle made of water and being attacked by a school of mythical Altrusian fish in a deep, mysterious underground cavern Holly and Heather find they have undergone a magical transformation—seconds after contact with water they transform into mermaids with unique and extraordinary abilities. They must learn to control the changes, deal with everyday problems, and accidental contact with water or risk their secret be exposed to their adversaries and Will.
The girls use their powers to defend themselves and Will from old enemies like the Sleestaks, Grumpy, and the Zarn to newer, more deadly adversaries like the fire breathing dinosaur Torchy and the Demonhunters (Shapeshifting Demons).
The girls are forced to reveal their supernatural powers to Will in defense against a Sleestaks attack … but Holly and Heather still guard closely the secret they are mermaids even from Will while they struggle to find an escape from The Land of the Lost.
