Disclaimer: I own nothing
A/N: This is my first Callie/Arizona fic. The idea randomly popped in my head while I was jogging today and I wrote it in about thirty minutes, so please be gentle. Also, this isn't beta'd so all mistakes are mine. Hope you enjoy!
Callie couldn't help but smile as her girlfriend moved around the Peds wing. She was so happy and perky and… bouncy. Yes, Arizona Robbins was literally bouncing from room to room. A fact that did not escape Mark's notice as he sidled up next to Callie.
"Is Blondie bouncing?" he asked incredulously.
"Yeah," Callie replied though it was clear she wasn't paying attention to him. Her eyes were trained on the blonde doctor. Her love and admiration for the older woman etched across her face.
Mark chuckled to himself. "Well I think it's weird. People aren't that happy. She has to be on someth-"
He stopped short when Callie punched his arm. "She isn't on anything Mark. Some people are that happy. Besides, look at the kids. They're eating it up."
Mark followed Callie's gaze as Arizona bounced out of the room across from them. The small child she left behind grinned from ear to ear and his parents looked like they were smiling for the first time in days.
"Whatever," Mark grumbled as he turned to leave. "I still think it's weird."
Callie rolled her eyes and followed him to the elevator, glancing back to see Arizona bouncing to the next room.
Callie walked through the door and threw her purse in the direction of the end table, not caring where it landed. She was completely and utterly exhausted. Right before the end of her shift, a trauma had come in and she'd had to scrub in on two surgeries back-to-back.
Her feet were killing her and all she wanted to do was curl up with Arizona and sleep for days. Taking a few more steps in to the apartment, Callie quickly realized that her wish wasn't going to come true anytime soon.
ABBA was blasting throughout the apartment and Callie knew that meant only one thing. Arizona was cleaning. She laughed and shook her head slightly as she peered into the kitchen to find her girlfriend dancing while scrubbing the countertops.
Callie swiftly made her way to the stereo. Turning the music off, she removed her jacket and reveled in the momentary silence.
"Calliope? Is that you?"
"Yeah it's me," she replied as her girlfriend walked out of the kitchen. The blonde still looked as perky as ever, despite her long shift and numerous surgeries.
"How the hell are you so perky all the time?" Callie asked with a laugh.
"I exercise," Arizona stated simply.
"What does you exercising have to do with anything?" Callie questioned looking a little confused.
"Exercise gives you endorphins. And endorphins make you happy," Arizona answered with a shrug.
Callie smirked. "And happy people just don't kill their husbands?"
"Calliope, I think you've seen Legally Blonde one too many times. And you know I would never have a husband." Arizona smiled sweetly while patting Callie's shoulder.
Callie just rolled her eyes and pulled her girlfriend into a hug. She kissed her softly and looked deep in her eyes as she pulled away. "I love you. You crazy, crazy woman."
A/N 2: So this was loosely based on the quote from Legally Blonde. "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't kill their husbands." All credit for that piece of genius goes to whoever wrote the movie.
