Hey!

I'm back! Okay, this is for Enovie's challenge (150 words with a coherent plot, containing the words "I saw him reading Peter Pan"). Here you go. Enjoy.

EDIT: I've changed the first sentence in order to comply with the competition rules. Nothing big, but that's life.

Impasse

I saw him reading Peter Pan. It was nothing special, I had read the book long ago, but at that moment something clicked in my mind.

Peter came back for Wendy's daughter, not for Wendy. The girl who aged could never have been good enough for the timeless, immortal boy.

Our impasse was going to have to end soon. I was not going to be a Wendy to Edward's Peter.

I hid the book, and the next day I sat him down to talk.

"I saw you reading Peter Pan," I told him. He nodded.

"I don't want to be a Wendy," I said. He nodded again.

He couldn't understand, I thought, but we would be married soon anyway. And then, finally, the danger that lay over out heads like a layer of clouds would be lifted, and his sparkling skin exposed to the sunlight.

The impasse would be lifted.

Whew, finished. You have no idea how hard that was. Please review!

(Enovie: Bitteschoen, Enovie, hier. Endlich fertig. Dein Challenge ist schwerer als man haette denken koennen!

EDIT: Ich hab's fuer dich veraendert. Schuldigung, war nur abversehn, ich wusste nicht davon.)
