Watch the fireworks

This was loosely based on a time at a school carnival. Looking back now, that was quite a while ago . My friend told me to use this event and turn it into a story (as a joke) and I decided it was a good idea :P

Hopefully you will think it's a good idea too.

"What's so hard about it? You easily talk with her in other places."

"That's because we're working, Ino."

Hinata giggled. "Just pretend you're working then."

Shikamaru closed his eyes. These women were troublesome.

"Because it's that easy, isn't it?" he replied.

She fell silent.

Ino slapped Shikamaru's shoulder. "What happened to all that 'acting like a man' stuff? You should be able to do this easily."

"Tch, you girls are annoying, you know that?"

"Were just trying to help," the blonde answered.

"Plus the festival will be a good chance," Hinata added.

Tonight was Konoha's "Water Festival," celebrating the coming of the rain season. It was a large event by tradition, and it meant a few important people would come to the village.

Including the Kazekage and his siblings.

"Even if it is a good chance, it's pointless."

Ino rolled her eyes. "You're just scared."

"I'm not scared, Ino," Shikamaru replied.. "I'm just...trying to find a better opportunity?"

"What if there isn't going to be a better one?" Hinata asked.

Shikamaru sighed. "Troublesome. There will always be a better time."

"A better time for what?"

They looked in front of them and saw Temari. Her hair was down, and to Shikamaru, it made her seem even more beautiful than usual.

"The fireworks," Shikamaru lied casually. "It looks like it may rain tonight, so it wouldn't be a good idea to light any."

Temari looked up into the cloudy night sky. "Oh well, I want them to light some anyway."

Ino smiled. "Hey Hinata, it's Naruto! Let's go!"

"Uh-" Hinata was pulled away before she got a chance to say anything, leaving the two alone.

"So, you going to watch the fireworks anyway?" Shikamaru asked.

"Of course, I wouldn't miss this just because of a little rain. How about you?"

"Too tired."

She rolled her eyes. "What's the point of coming if you're going to miss out on the best part of the night?"

He shrugged.

"Come on, we don't always get a chance to watch fireworks. You should be taking the opportunity while it's still there."

Her words made him smile.

"You're right," Shikamaru said, moving closer to Temari and taking her hand.

"Let's take this opportunity, and watch the fireworks."

End.
