The Beginning
Chapter ONE: The People You'll Meet
I don not own Phil of the Future
Keely walked slowly, and quietly down the halls of H.G. Wells Jr. Sr. High School; studying her new surroundings. She had to admit that the city was new and exiting, but Pickford, California was not Texas. She lived in Texas her whole life, but her mom's new job demanded her and her family to move to Cali. She had been here for a week and had not met anybody yet! She was starting to think that nobody wanted to meet her when she bumped into something that knocked her books onto the floor.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I should have been paying more attention." said a voice dipping to the floor to retrieve her fallen books.
Looking down at the cute head below her, Keely could not find a reply. Then the boy stood up with her books and extended his hand. "Hi I'm Phil. Phil Diffy."
Taking his hand, she finally found some words. "Keely Teslow. I'm new here."
"I thought so. And…judging by your accent, I'd say that you're the mysterious new girl from Texas."
"Mysterious, am I?" Keely replied in a flirty manner.
"Couldn't tell you yet." She giggled a little bit. She had known Phil for only about two minutes and she already liked him.
"Well I best am going. I have to find the Dean's office." She went to take her books back but Phil protested, saying,
"No! Let me! I'll show you around if you'd like."
"Thanks I'd appreciate that." He smiled at her and took her to the Dean.
When she came out of the office she was surprised to see that Phil had waited for her. "You waited for me?"
"Yes. Is that so shocking?"
"Well, it's not that I don't appreciate it, because I do. It's just that we barely know each other."
"Well let's get to know each other better. Why don't you come over my house tonight?"
"Are you asking me out?" Keely asked a bit surprised.
"Depends. Do you want me to ask you out?"
"I don't know."
"Well why don't you come over as a friend and we'll see where it goes from there. Sound good to you?"
"I guess that could work."
"Great! So…what's your locker number? I'll meet you here after school."
"Oh! Um…" Keely shuffled through some papers in her arms until she found the one with her locker number on it. "It's A12."
"Cool. Mine is A150. We are right across the hall from each other."
"Great. So…I'll…see you later then?
"I'll be looking forward to it."
Keely smiled and tried to hide her blush. "Bye."
All day long, Keely kept thinking about Phil. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and a crooked smirk. She had no doubt that he worked out and he looked kind of short, but he was still taller than her. He had kind of the skater/rocker/punk/emo/preppy style going on. Saying that Phil was hot was an understatement. There was something different about him. He was not the typical boy Keely would fall for. Maybe it was just the fact that he wasn't a cowboy, like every one of her previous boyfriends. Or maybe, it was that he had secrets. She wanted to know all of his secrets. She wanted to tell him hers.
She waited by her locker after school, like Phil said. She saw him walking across the hall with a pretty blond girl. I hope that's not his girlfriend. Keely thought. He walked right up to her with the girl trailing behind. "Hey Keely!" Phil turned to the blond and called
"Pim! Hurry up!"
"I'm summing!" The girl appeared in front of Keely.
"Keely, this is my sister Pim. Pim, this is Keely."
"Hi Pim! Nice to meet you." Keely said extending her hand.
"Yeah, whatever." Pim replied, leaving Keely's hand alone.
"Sorry Keel, you'll have to excuse my sister. She's a major pain!" Phil said giving Pim the death glare.
Keely giggled. He called me 'Keel' I like that! she thought. "It's alright. I'll give it time."
