He said thank you.

I never told them...what he said to me before he left. Those words I'll cherish forever. That voice still haunts me, but it's pleasant once more when I hear those words.

I know that it must be hard for him, I guess...I never was ready to follow him onto that dark path. I wouldn't be welcome where he went. Orochimaru would have likely rendered me useless, tossed me in with the experiments, never to see those dark orbs that were my light at such a young tender age.

My mother told me it was a passing crush, Tsunade told me to forget him. It was obvious she had her own experiences with the other sannin. Maybe they were just like us after all...

But no matter what they said, no matter how hard I tried to sway my path and find an attraction to Sai, or Rock lee, Sasuke will always be behind me, whispering those words.

I couldn't be happier if he said ' i love you' because then he would be lying. He just said ' thank you' and vanished like a passing dream.

Sasuke is my dream. Someone that I know I will neve have...I can't, really. Our fates just don't match up...and I would probobly hurt him in the end.

Anything but that...

When I was little, I told my father that I wanted a flying pony, with fiery wings, and a fiery mane.

He told me that if he had a fiery mane...I couldn't ride him.

I didn't understand, I thought he was just trying to shatter my dreams, but he took me in his arms, the sobbing child that I was, and he whispered to me, " Sometimes, the dream is better than the reality..."

Stay my dream then, Sasuke. Stay my dream, no matter where I go.

Because, in my dream, you'll be repeating those words...

Thank you, he said...and then he vanished.
