"Mooom! I'll get up in a minute!" Lizzie rolled over in her bed. After
about three minutes of lying in bed trying to go back to sleep, she decided
to just get up. Slowly, she dragged her feet into the bathroom and washed
her face, then brushed her teeth. Now that she had had water splattered
over her face, she felt at least a tiny bit more awake. She walked into her
room and started picking out her cloths for that day when the phone rang.
"I'll get it!" Lizzie called out and ran to answer the phone. "Hello?" Lizzie asked.
"Hey, Lizzie!" Ethan Craft answered.
Ethan Craft was only Lizzie's crush and he was calling her! Earlier she felt tired, now she felt so wide awake that she was about to burst!
"Hey, Ethan!" Lizzie said trying to hold back a giggle. 'I wonder why he's calling me' Lizzie thought.
"So, Lizzie, you're friends with Miranda, right?"
"Um, yeah." Lizzie was now wondering where this was going.
"Well, you know about the Spring Fling coming up, right?"
"Yeah!" answered Lizzie with a wide smile, even though she knew Ethan couldn't see her.
"Well, um, I was wonderin' if you maybe could as her to the Spring Fling for me, I'm a little nervous with that sort of stuff around her."
"I know how you feel." Answered Lizzie with an upside down smile now.
"So you'll ask her for me?" asked Ethan in his 'oh so innocent' voice.
"Sure!" Lizzie said. "You bet!" How could she resist that cute voice?
"Thanks, Lizzie. I owe you one! I guess I'll see you at school, bye!" and Ethan's phone clicked off.
Wonderful, thought Lizzie. My crush asked my best friend to the Spring Fling. Lizzie fell backwards onto her bed. This was just going to be the best dance of her life wasn't it? Ugh, who cares about what she's going to wear to school now! Lizzie had more important things to worry about, like how to win Ethan Craft back!
