Chapter #1: The Wondering Samurai

It was the 11th year of the Meiji Era, where rumors of a ruthless warrior whose said to kill many soldiers in battle, named Hitokiri Battosai struck the hearts of men in Japan. When the Battle of the Toba-Fushimi came to an end, the Battosai disappeared without a trace. After the Meiji Restoration, the warrior lent his hands to the numerous farmers' rebellions that occured around the country side. When the Seinan War in the 10th year of Meiji came to a close, the Hitokiri Battosai arrived in Tokyo to have a better view of the Meiji Government.

Kenshin walks down the Tokyo streets, silently thinking to himself.

Kenshin: sighs /This Era hasn't really progressed all that much at all, that it hasn't. I mean not that I'm complaining about the Western commodities we have and the Europeanization policy, but come on people! We need a little bit more than buscuits, chocolate, coffee and what else? Sumo wrestling? We could definitely ask for some tighter security so bums would be off our streets...

"AND speaking of bums off our streets!..."

Kenshin slowly turns around to notice where the voice came from, only to find a young woman armed with a katana sword down the road.

"Huh?"

"It's about time I got you off mine, Manslayer!'

Kenshin makes a big 'Oro' face at the girl's outburst.

"Prepare yourself!" Kaoru sets off towards the man at full speed and attacks him with her wooden katana.

Unfortunately, Kenshin easily dodges her by jumping into the air, only to crash into some nearby wooden crates and barrels. Kaoru just looks baffled at the pathetic now-mess she just witnessed.

"Could a clumsy guy like you possibly be the legendary battosai the manslayer/ I heard you just slayed three men in one night!!" Kaoru went up to get a closer look at Kenshin.

"I am a wanderer. I'm nothing more than a wandering swordsman, that I am1" Kenshin replies.

"So there's absolutely no possible way you're the manslayer..."

"uh, nope."

"Really?"

"Positive."

"You're serious?"

"Absolutely."

Just then, a police whistle was heard far out.

"Oh, no that must be the manslayer! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go blindly put myself in danger now." Kaoru sprints off, flinging Kenshin's sakabato in the air.

/Wow, she's not to smart, is she?/

Kenshin says to himself as he clumsily, but miraculously catches it with his sheathe.

/Aw, well I guess it's time for me to play the Obligatory hero./
