Contagious Happiness: Rei
Prologue
"Where is that girl?" Rei asked for the millionth time as she waited for Usagi to appear. The blond had not been late to anything ever since the big accident. A dark foreboding came over her even as Ami hurried to reassure everyone that Usagi probably just lost track of time, but everyone could see that Ami was as worried as they were.
As they paced the temple's stone paved steps, a yelp emitted from the silently, worried Luna. Her crescent moon began to flicker as a beam of energy was shot from it. The senshi stood still in shock as a form began to take the place of the cat. As the light faded slowly, it was apparent that the form was a human girl. Long, violet-black hair fell down her back. When the girl opened her eyes, the senshi found themselves face to face with a human face and a pair of shocked, familiar garnet eyes.
"LUNA?" Lita finally whispered.
"How…" Luna trailed off as she fainted.
Thankfully, Lita and Mina caught her just before she hit the ground. They lifted her and settled her onto Rei's bed as the Mercury computer began beeping.
"Youma at the construction!" Artemis shouted as he rushed through the temple doors. Then his eyes settled on the unconscious Luna.
"Luna? How?" he asked in amazement. "I thought she…"
"That she what?" asked Mina who was now curious.
"No time for that now, go dust the youma! It's a long story…" replied the white cat briskly.
The others hurried towards the site as Rei stayed behind to post charms around Luna's bed to ward off evil spirits.
*Oh Serene, what is happening?* she thought as she posted the charms.
As soon as she finished, she hurried to join the others.
At the battle…
Sailor Mars exploded into the scene of the battle. A quick scan of the abandoned construction site told her much about the youma's forte. Fire.
"Mercury!" she shouted above the chaos as Jupiter tried to distract it. A silent look passed between them as Mercury understood her meaning. Gathering her energy she prepared her attack…
"Shining Aqua Illusion!!!!" she shouted as she released her cold energy. The icy energy struck the distracted youma as it froze in place.
*Damn Damn Damn! How are we going to get rid of it without Usagi?* The thought raced through everyone's minds as they noticed the ice beginning to melt.
*Fire would melt the ice even faster. Lightning would break the ice. Crescent Beam would shatter it.* Sailor Mars quickly assessed the situation as she made a last minute decision. *I'll just have to fight fire with fire…*
Gathering her energy, she was about to send the fires of hell on the ice frozen youma when a voice interrupted.
"Light Sword Pierce!!!" Rays of light were appeared out of nowhere lighting the gloomy construction site as lasers slashed through the ice and into the youma. With one last terrifying screech, she was dusted.
Silence reigned the area as their savior came out of the shadows. A figure in gray uniform with red trimmings strode towards them. He was well built and walked with a confident swagger. As he came closer, excitement ran through Rei as his face was beginning to be revealed. *A few more steps…* Finally, he was close enough for them to see him clearly. When they did, all color drained from their faces. He had golden blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, and… Jadeite's face! Jadeite's back!
