Gold said nothing. He slid the box across the glass to rest in front of her. She let her hand reach out to touch the box, aware and not caring that her hand was trembling. She hesitantly lifted the lid and glanced inside. Seeing that what she wanted safely inside, Regina closed the top and met Gold's eyes.

She couldn't met his gaze. She didn't want to see his glee in her down fall, couldn't accept that her world was falling down around her and that he was the one she needed help from. Her bottom lip trembled and the tip of her nose stung, the sign that tears were gathering in her eyes and threatening to crash down. "I need it."

Rumplestiltskin leaned heavily on his cane. "And what, dearie, might that be?"

Regina flicked her eyes up briefly before dropping them again. She had seen Belle behind the counter, watching with confused, distrusting eyes. One more person to see my downfall Regina mused thoughtfully. "You know exactly what I'm taking about, Gold."

"Ah, yes." He nodded and limped behind the counter, next to Belle. Gently pushing her to the side, the man reached down and pulled out a small wooden box, no bigger than the length of Regina's forearm. "Now dear-"

"What's the price?" She lifted her head, confidence slowly reaching out, to be this defiant one last time. She stepped forward, internally wincing when Belle flinched back at her movement.

"The price, Gold."

"You know the price that comes with this one." He told her softly, as if reminding her of something he told her long ago. Regina gave a curt nod, collected the box, and made for the door, stopped only by Gold's voice.

"Regina…"

She turned. He held a sort of sympathy in his eyes for her that she hadn't seen in a long time. He tilted his head to the side with a look on his face. I understand why, but are you sure? She nodded slowly and gave a smile that closely resembled a grimace. She moved back to the door and stopped half way out to lock eyes with him once more. "…thank you, Rumple."
