Prompt: Write about a character who loses something important to him/her.

Disclaimer: I do not own Noragami or any of its characters. This is written purely because my friend has infected her addiction to me and I had yet to find a way to cure it.

"May our fates intertwine."

He said even as the five-yen coin flipped in the air and got snatched by his palm in a gesture that was meant to be cool but not remotely so.

But again, just who exactly is he?

Hiyori rummage through her mind again and again, trying to find the source of this unsettling feeling. This feeling like... like she had lost something. Something important . And she just couldn't place what exactly that is.

At times she would close her eyes and would see and azure blue gaze fixing into her own peripheral vision. She would try to sniff the air out of habit and catch a slight flagrance that just feels so familiar but she couldn't remember.

What in the world is happening with her?

'Oh god, please, please help me.'

She would pray like that and got ignored. Rejected.

And somewhere near, a god would clap his hands over his ears like his life will end if he allows himself to even catch a word of that wish.

"...I must do it, Yukine." The words were clenched out, its speaker shaking to not let his voice crack.

"Why, Yato? Why?"

"Nora will kill her else. I..."

The god refuses to speak more and instead get straight down to his work.

"Sekki."

The naked blade slash down and felt the tie severed.

That tie was probably the most difficult one Yukine has ever cut.

"Revert, Yukine." Yato said without taking his eyes off the sleeping form in front of them.

"Now be happy, Hiyori... You've lost nothing."

She kept hearing that last sentence again and again, repeated in her own, desperate attempt to remember. To regain what was lost with the nostalgic voice keep saying she had lost nothing.

Maybe she had lost nothing, after all.

She didn't know losing 'nothing' hurts so much.
