He observed the landscape with empty, black voids one would dare call eyes; a smug aura settling about him as his field of vision settled comfortably into the scene surrounding him. He was satisfied, to say the least. He and his men had worked hard, and bore the fruits of their labor, and now it was time to enjoy them; the taste of sweet victory washed over them as a tsunami and clung to their bodies and souls like a magnet attracting pure metals.
He was certain that he did, anyway. He reaped pleasure in the kill, the feeling of soft flesh ripping from bone by his hand, the agony wrung onto their faces as they faced their final moments in the realm of the living; the poor fools. They would never know the glorious era that was his rule because they had dared to oppose him, mortal and demon alike. He reveled in the destruction he left in the dawn of the new age, the mighty monuments that once signified the mortals' reign upon the territory reduced to rubble, how they cowered before his very presence!
And oh, he almost forgot the demons! They were much easier to keep under control then the humans! It didn't take much to win them over, the civil war leaving them without food or drink or home, let alone any hope or happiness to call their own. Oh, how the demons bowed before him as the newly crowned king made himself known as ruler over all...
What he enjoyed most, perhaps, was one simple fact: any and all acknowledgements of the lives demons and mortals alike knew will ceased to exist, and with it, surely, their will to fight. Those left alive will surrender in no time. And on that moment, Phalanx would begin to rebuild the two worlds in his image, his provision for a paradise in which the strong dominate the weak, in which the darkness overpowered the light.
The sun will never shine again when he was through with them. Phalanx and his armies, directed by the cunning general Arma, would see to that.
A/N - Kinda dark, I know, but I wanted to write this out. Because I've always wanted to do something inspired by Rammstein. Try listening to the song Sonne (it's in the title so you're not confused lol) and reading this. Isn't it fitting music? x'D
