As the wind howled outside, the music inside the room grew louder, lightening up the mood. Two people sat on either of the couches - reading. Boredom soon took over Emma's mind and setting the book down, she hummed along with the song. Regina, used to the occasional humming of her girlfriend, sat undisturbed. Before long Emma was on her feet, slowly dancing to the song, swivelling. Now that was something Regina hardly ever saw. She peeked through the top of the book, trying to settle this moving image in her mind. Blonde curls moved and bounced, surprisingly enough, with the music itself. It was a sight to behold.

Emma noticed the eyes staring at her, but ignored them. Her moves smoothed, and she moved through the air like silk over skin. Emma loved teasing Regina, especially since she hardly ever got the chance to. Regina was a perfection of different sorts. So every opportunity Emma got, she grabbed at it. And let's be honest, Regina and dance, not the best of combinations. From the corner of her eye, Emma could see Regina getting restless, with an endearing sparkle in her eye. She wanted to bask in the glory of this game that she was winning a little longer, but Regina was her strength and her weakness. And right now, she wanted to dance with her.

Cursing herself, but pleased for being able to achieve what she had, she turned to face Regina. Regina not expecting it was caught off-guard and she put the book down with as much elegance as she could muster, revealing the smile etched across her face.

"Please don't stop dear. It was quiet a, hmm, a grasping performance." Regina's voice was a little gruff, but the kind that made your insides jump in joy. Smiling Emma inched forward, offering her outstretched arm to Regina. Regina's gaze shifted from Emma's face to her hand then back to her face. Regina did not believe in angels, but as the glow emitting from the fireplace created an aura around Emma, she couldn't help but think otherwise. She did not prefer dancing because she didn't know how to. And if you don't know how to do something, then you can't lead people into doing it.

"You are thinking too much." Emma teased as she placed the other hand on her hip. "The offer won't last too long."

Oh what the hell! Smiling, Regina took Emma's hand and straightened herself. Moving closer, she shifted Emma's hands on to her hips instead, placing her own on Emma's. Emma pulled Regina closer, lips pressing on to her forehead.

"Thank you for this dance." Emma's breath on the forehead sent a shiver down her spine.

Regina smiled as her eyes began to water, "It should be a crime to love someone so much."

Emma grinned against her forehead and wrapped her arms around Regina's neck. After all she was the one to lead today. And just like that, they were dancing, a slow shuffle dance. Regina's hands curled around Emma's shoulder, holding her close and firm. Emma's fingers twined into Regina's hair, and she planted a light but elongating kiss in the dim light. They danced through the kiss all the while melting into each other.

"God you're beautiful." Emma exclaimed as their lips parted. A chuckle left Regina and she placed her brow on Emma's.

"That was hardly the right response. But thank you." Emma cupped one of Regina's cheeks and kissed her again, more passionately this time.

As their lips separated once more, Emma smiled cheekily, her thumb lightly stroking the red on Regina's cheeks. "Sometimes I think I am dreaming all of this. Am I dreaming?" Emma inclined her head ever so slightly, eagerly waiting for an answer.

The childish manner of Emma's questioning brought tears to Regina's eyes. "I don't think so." Regina whispered into the air. She kissed Emma softly, "I'm fairly sure you are not."
