"Ahh...Ahh..."

Trucy's eyes snapped open and looked around. She quickly rushed over to Vera, who was sitting up in the hospital bed, sobbing quietly. Her entire body was shaking all over. Trucy ran to the blue-haired girl's side and exclaimed, "Vera...Vera, are you okay? Is something the matter? Should I get the doctor? Please...tell me what's wrong?"

Even though it was still dark out, Trucy could easily see Vera's face; that pained look in her eyes, that gentle pale face, those rivers of tears rolling down her cheeks. Vera started to slowly rock back and forth as she muttered things to herself. The result of that last case was finally start to affect her. Unsure of what to do, Trucy tried to calm Vera down with soft words, but it wasn't working.

The reason Trucy was even at the hospital in the first place was because she volunteered to stay with Vera until she got better. Since Phoenix had complete confidence in his "daughter", and Apollo had another case coming up soon, they both agreed to let her stay. 'I'll do whatever I can to make sure Vera is happy...' Trucy had told herself earlier that same day. Now, she wasn't sure if she was capable of performing this task.

"Please, Vera...please calm down...it'll be okay..." Trucy whispered. All of these words she spoke left a bad taste in her mouth, as if she was LYING to the poor older girl. Trucy could feel tears start to form in her own eyes as she pulled a cover over Vera's body.

Still shivering, Vera closed her eyes and whispered, "That man...he...he killed my father...my father...he tried to kill...me..." Trucy hated seeing Vera like this. 'She's such a sweet girl...how could that Kristoph person be so cruel to her...?' Trucy wondered, her fist clenched tightly. Once Vera had finally fallen back to sleep, Trucy took her seat and started at the blue-haired girl for a few minutes.

'God...she's so beautiful...and kind...and adorable...and cute...and sexy...'

Trucy was so engrossed with her emotions that she didn't even realize what she was thinking. Slowly, she knew she was beginning to fall in love with one Vera Misham, the very girl she had swore to protect during her stay in the hospital. Trucy felt the heat rise in her cheeks as she continued to think on the matter.

'Hmm...we're only 4 years apart, right? A relationship is still possible...of course, we're both girls, which is supposed to automatically mean that forming a relationship is IMPOSSIBLE. But...magic is all about making the impossible possible, right? So...if I keep that in mind, I just might have a chance, right? Right...'

Suddenly, Trucy noticed that Vera was sitting up again. She turned her pale face towards the young magician girl and quietly muttered, "...I need to use the bathroom." Trucy blushed as she helped Vera out of bed and lead her to the toliet, but Vera herself didn't seem to notice. When all was said and done, Vera climbed back into bed and went back to sleep.

'...I guess her nerves are still a bit numb from being poisoned...' Trucy thought when she noticed how slow Vera had been moving. Thoughts of that horrible scene resurfaced in her mind, and Trucy shuddered. She didn't want anything like that happening to Vera ever again.

Trucy stared at Vera's sleeping form for a few more seconds before an idea came to her. She quickly looked around to make sure no one was watching, and then...she slowly leaned in and kissed Vera gently on the forehead. Unfortunately, Trucy had closed her eyes when she did this, so she didn't notice when Vera woke up and, swiftly, dragged Trucy's motuh from her forehead down to her lips.

The kiss only lasted a minute...but the affects it left the next day lasted for eternity.
