Masks

Disclaimer: I own nothing!

I wore the mask of a snake
Cold blooded and creepy
I told him I would swallow
All that stood in my way
I wonder if that's how he knew
That I would sink my fangs into him one day

I wore the mask of a fox
Mischievous and tricky
I told him lies mixed with truth
And dared him to guess which was which
I wonder if that's how he knew
He would have to be strong when I was gone

I wore no masks around her
Not when we were alone
I told her no lies and gave her what I could
When we were alone in our little world
I wonder if that's how she knew
In the end, it was all for her

Author's Note: Everybody seems to be writing fics based on the latest chapters. Figure I might as well join in. But I didn't want to write a fic, especially one trying to decipher the emotion in Kubo's panels. To me, Kubo's drawing of the Gin x Rangiku scenes said volumes and I don't even want to try writing a fic that intrudes on those scenes. In fact, I didn't want to write a fic at all. But today I got the urge to write some poetry. It's been a while since I wrote poetry. I don't know if I am any good at writing poetry but it does come easier to me.
