Chapter one
James listened as Kendall Sang softly during commercial break.
"Looking at all or nothing babe it's you and I, I know that I'm good for something so let's go give it a try. We've got your backs against the ocean, just us against the world. looking at all or nothing babe it's you and I." James looked up at Kendall and gave him a kiss. It had been over three months since Kendall's incident with his father, and though he insisted he was fine, James didn't think so. When the show came back on James called the other two boys back in and Kendall immediately stopped singing.
"OH I HOPE SCOTTY WINS!" Carlos bursted, which was followed by a blunt shut up by the other three.
"Dim the light's" Kendall couldn't help but smile as he watched the other three get closer to the TV. "Here we go!" Ryan Seacrest yelled and Kendall sighed.
'If only I was talented enough to do something like singing for the rest of my life.'
"After the nationwide vote. the winner of American Idol season ten is..." Carlos leaned towards the TV the more and more the longer the pause. "Scotty McCreery!" Carlos screamed and jumped around the room as he sang his happy song. Kendall laughed before James told everyone to shut up.
"If you think that you are the next American Idol auditions start in June in Minneapolis Minnesota." James looked at Kendall.
"You are totally going to that audition." Kendall stood up in shock.
"No Flipping way! I'll be one of those that you see at the beginning where they make fun of you!" James shook his head. "So anyway how about that game tomorrow? You know we are going to get our asses kicked."JAmes smiled when an idea came to him.
"Ok Kendall I'll make you a bet. If we win tomorrow you have to audition for American Idol... If we lose I will wear a dress to school for a week... and no throwing the competition." Kendall shook his head frantically.
"Hell no! I need at least two championships for my coaching career to kick off." Carlos Looked at Kendall.
"Why not College? They expunged your record as part of that deal right?" Kendall nodded.
"I'd only go to college if I had a full hockey scholarship, and I've been out of the circuit too long. James rolled his eyes. He knew if Kendall really wanted to get a scholarship he could have one to any college in the country.

Kendall glanced at James and smiled as he skated to the the blue line. It was the finals of the Minnesota High School Hockey Tournament, AA division. The score was 3-2 and all the Knights had to do was hold on for the win. with fifteen seconds to go, Kendall put his game face on and looked back at James who was currently in the penalty box for a checking call. Looking at the right wing the blonde sent him a wink before getting ready for the face off. As his team won the face off and Kendall skated down the Ice the crowed started chanting ten, nine, eight, Kendall looked to the penalty box as James skated out onto the ice, and the Knights were at full strength with control of the puck. Kendall took a deep breath as he heard the buzzer go off. They had WON! Skating over to James the blonde pulled the taller boy into a hug.
"WE WON JAMES!" Kendall screamed as the rest of the team dog piled the two captains. When the dog pile broke up, Kendall helped James up and looked around before giving him a kiss.
"We won hun! I can't believe it!" James pulled Kendall into another hug.
"Now you know what you need to do... I hope you have your song picked out."

Kendall looked over at James Nervously. He couldn't believe that he was contestant 475 for American Idol, Shifting nervously he watched as the line moved up. He had made it past the first five auditions and now all he had to do was impress Randy, Steven, and Jennifer. Feeling a hand on his shoulder Kendall jumped and turned to James.
"I can't do this James... I'm going to get laughed at." and James smiled.
"They haven't laughed at you yet have they?" Kendall shook his head. "Ok then..." James was cut off by someone calling Kendall's number.
"Here I go... wish me luck" James gave Kendall a peck on the cheek and walked into the audition room.
As Kendall walked into the room he nervously fiddled with his hoodie. Looking at Randy, Steven, and Jennifer, Kendall put on an act of confidence and strutted into the room.
"Why hello there!" Jennifer exclaimed as Kendall stood on the 'X'. The blonde watched as Randy Jackson looked up at him.
"Decent style something we can definately work with... what's your name kid?" Kendall cleared his throat.
"My name is Kendall Hanson-Knight Sir" the teenager couldn't help but be intimidated by the famous people.
"How old are you sweetie?" Jennifer asked, the kindness clearly showing in her eyes.
"I'm seventeen ma'am" Steven nodded.
"POk and what are you going to be singing for us today?" Kendall looked to Steven in intimidation... this is the guy he grew up lip-syncing to.
"I'll be singing All or Nothing by Theory of a Deadman." The three judges nod, and Kendall waits for the ok.
"Go ahead whenever you're ready." Taking a deep breath Kendall began.
"Looking at All or nothing babe it's you and I, with you I know that I'm good for something so let's just give it a try, we've got our backs against the ocean it's just us against the world. looking at all or nothing babe it's you and I" Kendall stopped and looked at the judges.
"You've Definately got a voice on you that's for sure" Steven said.
"Damn boy! You're such a sweetheart." Kendall sighed he had a feeling they were going to say no.
"So... Steven? Yes or no?" Randy asked.

James watched as Kendall walked out of the audition room.
"WELL?" He asked with anticipation. Kendall hung his head he wasn't sure how he was going to break the news to his boyfriend of three months.
"Well James... I'm sorry... But you're going to have to deal without me for a little... I'm going to hollywood!"
