A Broken Heart
Her body lies their shaking
As her heart continues breaking
She knows he won't be lying by her tonight
She thinks back to the first kiss
Of all the things that she'll miss
And something in her heart knows this isn't right
She says she's feeling fine
As she pours a glass of wine
And stares out at his truck there yard
She won't admit her heart is dying
She won't tell you she's been crying
She just walks away saying life is hard
It's the same routine everyday
Just the part she's learned to play
And another part of her spirit breaks apart
She puts a smile on her face
Says she just needs her space
As she walks away with the aching in her heart
You can't take away her pain
You can't help her to regain
That part of her life you know she misses most
You can't force her to let you in
You just watch her as she pretends
That this life for her is nothing more than just a ghost
So you step away without a word
Hoping that she hasn't heard
Your tears as they fell down to the floor
You walk away one more time
Praying for her piece of mind
Hoping she'll fight for the life she had before
