(A/N: What can I say, I'm drunk and my yuri goggles are always on. But really, I wanted to write at least something so I could get more familiar with writing for these characters, and hopefully make something longer one day.)
"Ta da~!" Mayoi announced triumphantly as she unveiled her latest contraption, currently sat on her desk in their homeroom.
"The heck is that?" Sakaki asked as he leaned back in his chair.
"It's a catapult, built from whatever I could find around the room!" Mayoi said proudly, holding a hand to her chest. The machine was constructed of pencils, rubber bands, tape and other random items. The others didn't want to know how it was staying together, or how it would operate.
"Would you like a demonstration, nyah~" Mayoi asked her friends.
"No." Tsumiki deadpanned.
"I don't think she's going to listen to what we say." Io said plainly.
"He he he, firing in 3...2…1..." Mayoi loaded a piece of writing chalk onto what was presumably the launching cradle.
"Thought not." Io voice held but a hint of amusement.
"Bombs away!" Mayoi said in English. The little piece of chalk flew through the air before it impacted the board, leaving a small white mark where it had struck. "It worked!" Mayoi jumped for joy.
"You weren't sure?!" Sakaki balked. Mayoi scratched her cheek.
"Well, it's just a prototype, nyah~" Mayoi grabbed a metal sharpener from the desk next to hers and loaded it onto the catapult. "Time for a weight test!" She said, pointing her finger into the air. Foregoing the countdown, Mayoi launched the hunk of metal through the air. Unfortunately, she had forgotten to properly aim the catapult's trajectory, as it headed straight for the door.
At that moment, Hime chose to walk into the room. "Hai! What's go-Gah!" Hime, much to her dismay, was struck right in the middle of the forehead. She fell to the ground clutching her hands to her face as a small trickle of blood trailed down between her hands. Mayoi's expression turned from one of jubilation to concern in the blink of an eye.
"Oh no, Hime!" She ran over to her down friend, waving her arms in panic. "Hime, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to! Where did it hit you, are you okay?!" Mayoi fussed over her fallen friend. Hime removed her hands from her face, showing a minor cut where the sharpener's corner had impacted her. Hime eyes seemed unfocused, as though she were shocked.
"Mayoi...you're here too…" Hime mumbled as Mayoi helped her to her feet.
"Do you need anything, Hime-chi?" Mayoi asked softly.
"I need...I need…" Hime began.
"What? What is-" Mayoi was cut off as Hime's lips slammed into hers. Mayoi's arms flailed for a moment before she relaxed. Hime kept her lips in contact with her friend's for a few moments; then she began to lose her balance again and fell forward, taking Mayoi with her.
"What the hell, Hime?!" Mayoi yelled as her back hit the floor. Hime, however, had fallen into unconsciousness. "Hime, that was my first kiss! You stole it!" Mayoi yelled as she attempted to push the other girl off.
"Did you see that Io?! Hime-chi and Mayoi-chan totally just made out!" Sakaki said excitedly.
"Do you think Hime needs to go to the nurse's office." Io said stoically, though slightly concerned.
"This will teach them for screwing around." Tsumiki said, turning away from Mayoi as she struggled on the floor.
"Aw man, you should've seen it, they totally kissed and everything!" Sakaki repeated himself to Io, who had stopped listening. On Mayoi desk sat her makeshift catapult, the instigator of her current predicament, forgotten in the commotion.
