Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Lady Hatt's Birthday Party" from Season 5 with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
One summer day, Thomas and Percy were resting at a station, when Bertie the Bus pulled up.
"Have you noticed something different about Sir Topham Hatt?" he asked.
"What sort of something?"
"I did see him looking at the clouds at sunrise." said Percy. "I wonder why?"
The reason was short and simple. It was Lady Hatt's birthday!
"Your birthday is a great occasion, and this party will be extra special!" said Sir Topham Hatt to his wife.
"Thank you my dear." replied Lady Hatt. "Make sure to be on time, and stay clean!:
"I'll be spic and span and right on time!"
Later that day, Sir Topham Hatt was dressed in a black suit and tie for the party.
"You look really good!" said the stationmaster.
"Indeed! Since all the engines are busy, I'll take my car."
"Is it reliable?" asked the stationmaster.
"It is." replied Sir Topham Hatt.
But it wasn't! As he sped along, he hit a pothole, causing a flat-tire!
"Bother!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "With this flat-tire, I'll be late to the party!"
Just then, he heard Caroline coming down the road.
"I must attend my wife's birthday party. Please give me a lift."
"Why of course!" said Caroline.
But Caroline didn't like going fast.
"My engine will overheat if I keep going fast!"
And it did!
"Bother, bother!"
Then, he saw George the steam-roller. He was cross when he saw Caroline.
"You're a disgrace to the road!" snapped George. "Find yourself a scrap-yard!"
George's driver was much more polite.
"Can I help you sir?"
"Only if you can get me to my wife's birthday party." sighed Sir Topham Hatt.
"We can take you to Thomas down the road."
"Thank you." said Sir Topham Hatt as they rumbled away.
"What about me?" wailed Caroline.
"I'll send for help!" said Sir Topham Hatt.
"Thank you!" replied Caroline.
George enjoyed rolling down the lane, but Sir Topham Hatt didn't. Oil was getting all over his black suit and black tie!
But worse was to follow!
"I'm losing control!" cried George.
Soon, George crashed into a muddy ditch, and Sir Topham Hatt fell, causing him to sink waist-deep into the mud!
"Bother, bother, bother!"
Thomas's driver came over to see what was the matter.
"Can I help you sir?"
"Please get me to the station as fast as you can."
"But our fireman has taken ill!"
"Then I'll be your fireman!"
Thomas was excited.
Sir Topham Hatt had to work hard, causing him to get even more dirty, but soon, he arrived at the station.
"Just in time!" he exclaimed.
He bought a huge bunch of flowers, then hurried to the party.
And as the clock stuck three, there was Sir Topham Hatt, looking tired, but triumphant.
He gave his wife the flowers.
"Thank you for arriving on time, but I didn't know it was fancy dress!"
Everyone laughed and cheered, then the party began!
