A look of intensity in his eyes, the blade master thrust at his opponent. Clad in all Twilight Temple equipment, he was sure of his victory. All those countless days of blood, sweat and tears had finally paid off, and this was the maiden voyage of the fruit of his toils. He raised his glowing blade as his steps grew swifter, his heart beat faster.
A look of focus in her eyes, the wizard raised her hand. It glowed a brilliant orange as she began channeling her next attack. After months spent training with the great wizards of Thousand Streams, she was sure of her victory. All those countless days of blood, sweat and tears had finally paid off, and this was the maiden voyage of the fruit of her toils. She had more skills than any wizard her age. The blade master drew near, this would be close.
The blade master raised his sword above his head as he lept into the air in front of the wizard, a purple glow eminating from his blade.
The blade master lept, the wizard looked up. Her hand glowed more intensely.
The blade master thrust his blade down, "AOELIAN BLADE!!!" He landed a nasty gash on her shoulder.
The wizard looked eerily calm. She extended her arm, and, with a flick of her wrist, sent a magnificent phoenix at the blade master. He went flying. He hit the top of a nearby wall, and slumped to the ground, motionless, and blacked out. The wizard raised a hand to begin a spell. She could no longer use her left one, after the blade master's attack.
The blade master fluttered his eyes open. He grasped his weapon, and stumbled to his feet. Fury permeated his eyes. He crossed his arms, and sent a cone of light flying at the wizard, then fell to his knees. He couldn't move.
The wizard's eyes widened in a look of horror. She couldn't stop the spell now. The cone hit, and she skid about ten feet back, badly wounded. Her skill finished. An enormous water dragon shot from her hands, its upward thrust seeming to hold her up until it was fully summoned, causing her to fall to her hands and knees, panting.
The dragon soared into the sky, and made a high, sharp arc down on the blade master. He slumped to the ground, unconcious and an inch from death. The wizard's arms trembled. She slowly and trembling got onto her feet, wiping blood off her mouth.
