So, um, this just kinda sprang into existence at like one in the morning and I just had to write it down cause it looked so cute in my head. A little fluff never hurt anyone, yeah? c:

Her brilliant green eyes were flashing and burning beautifully with cold emerald ice. Her wild red hair was whipping through the air as she yelled at him and when the strands caught the light, they turned golden and it looked like a halo and it made her look like a goddamn angel sent straight from heaven itself. Her cheeks were all flushed a light rose colour from the force of her tirade and her hands were fisting those lovely ginger curls in frustration and James couldn't help but stare.
Who could blame the guy? He was in love and he knew it.

Said guy finally snapped out of it when he'd noticed that the object of his affections had stopped her diatribe and was looking at him expectantly, obviously awaiting a reply.
An intelligent one too, not the blank, slightly stunned look that he was currently sporting, though if he was going to be honest with himself, James hadn't listened to a word she said and just blurted out, "You- you're so beautiful," with what he was sure was a look of complete adoration in his eyes.
Whipped, Remus thought, rolling his eyes fondly at his best friend.
Lily turned the poor bloke into a sappy, idiotic mess; what could he to do about it? It wasn't like he could just ignore her…
Clearly, she'd taken note of the affection in his gaze and recognised honesty in his voice so she just mumbled a 'thanks Potter' and all but sprinted up to the girls' dormitories, leaving a stunned James in her wake.
"Did she just not yell at me?" The boy turned to a sniggering Remus, awestruck by what had just occurred.
"I think so, nice job mate." James' sandy-haired friend replied with an amused smile, gently leading a still-in-Lily-land James into one of the armchairs by the fire whilst the rest of the common room looked on in amusement.

A few minutes later, after James had sorted out his thoughts properly, he asked cautiously, "Am I dreaming?"
Remus looked up from his book, surprised by his friend's sudden outburst after the silence. "No you aren't, Prongs."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Just checking, cause like, this sometimes happens when I'm dreaming and then-"
"Er, it's alright, I don't need to know."
"...oh. Alright."
