"SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE! GEKKO!" I whipped around to see one of those damn un-manned machines. I got on my codec and crouched down. Otacon's face appeared on my small wrist monitor. "Otacon, that Gekko is blocking my path… how do I get it to move?" I asked as Otacon thought about it. "I'm at a loss, Snake… maybe use the Mk. III to get to the circuit breaker? You could shock it. Do you remember where it is?"

"Yeah, didn't we go over this? I'm not senile yet." Otacon smirked. "Whatever you old geezer. Just watch out. In case you didn't know this, Gekko have infrared sight, so they can see the Mk. III." I scoffed, then heard the noise that those Gekko made… ya know, the one that sounds like cow… My eyes went wide, body went stiff, had it heard me? I quickly pulled the face camo mask thing I got from Laughing Octopus and turned on my Octocamo. Not a second later, the Gekko's head came through the doorway. His head turned to face me. I stayed as still as possible. After what felt like hours, but were really 15 seconds, his head turned to the other side of the hall.

I sighed in relief a little loudly. The Gekko's head quickly spun around and locked on to me. "Damn… I muttered as the Gekko tore through the wall and made a loud screech. I pulled out my operator handgun and aimed it at its right, powerful leg. Nada, I shot it again. Zilch, I pulled the trigger again, and again and again. It still came after me. I dropped my gun and pulled out my M4 Custom.

I aimed at its powerful legs and fired. It stumbled a bit as I reloaded. I did a sideways roll and ran down the hall to a small room blocked off by desks that someone pressed against the doorframe. I rolled under the desk and stood up on the other side. I found a dark shady corner. Perfect. I ran over and crouched in the blackness. I heard the sound of the Gekko charging after me. I turned on my Octocamo.

It busted through the doorframe sending chunks of desk and wall around the room. He/it turned his/its large head to my direction, then slowly swept across the room. Then his/its little arm wire came out and scoped behind boxes and other metal equipment to find me. Nope. It retracted and the Gekko stood up tall and released that green fluid. I still have no idea what the hell that stuff is. The Gekko then turned and left. I waited a moment, then called Otacon again.

"Otacon, any other "great" Ideas?" I asked as Otacon sighed happily. "Snake, I thought you were a goner!" Otacon yelled with glee. "Same here, but I want to kill this Gekko and get the hell outta here." I mumbled as Otacon nodded. "But first, Snake, you have to get to Metal Gear Rex." "I know, I know… story of my life huh, Otacon… at least what's left of it…" I said as I looked down at my wrinkled hand, knowing I would die soon. "Snake…" Otacon murmured, but I didn't care. I was going to stop Liquid if it's the last thing I do… it may be the last thing I do. I thought to myself…
