If Danzo Was Truly a Threat

By Kuno-Baby

AN: Oneshot

Danzo limped from his bedroom into his small kitchen, wincing, as he did every morning at the bindings that kept his hidden arm secret from the village. He wished that he could be overt, but a true shadowy protector like himself had to have secrets to be effective.

He used his one free hand to grab a box from a cabinet, then in a practiced motion opened the box and grabbed a small packet. Tearing the packet open with his teeth, he poured some dry oatmeal into a bowl that was already on his kitchen counter then filled it the rest of the way with water and placed it in the microwave for a few minutes.

Sitting on an old, rickety chair, he pondered his situation, not bothered by the slight hum of the cooking device. Konoha was growing too soft, he thought. He'd have to do something about that new, foolish hokage. Tsunade wasn't as strong as her old teacher had been, and she didn't have the resolve to do what was necessary.

Snapping his fingers, a disguised root agent appeared before him in a swirl of dry air. "Have the advisors brought to me today. We have to discuss our plans." The agent disappeared soundlessly, and Danzo stood, grabbing his breakfast from the microwave. He sat down again, sighed, and took a tentative bite. It was still a little too hot. Then a thought came to him.

"I don't remember buying almond flavored oatmeal…"

Danzo's head slumped into his bowl.
