About The Clans:
FeatherClan
FeatherClan is similar to ThunderClan. They work in the prey-rich forests and mountains of their territory. They create nest-like dens out of fallen pine-needles, twigs, moss and lichen. FeatherClan cats have no official camp, only certain landmarks that they familiarise themselves with as soon as they go outside, such as the Nursery, a small enclosed glade where she-cats spend their kitting moons, the Elders Tree, a fallen oak that had lost almost all of it's twigs and leaves over time, where Elders sleep and relax together, and the HeatherRock, and large boulder surrounded, as the name suggests, completely by heather, where FeatherClan holds all important meetings and ceremonies. Warriors and apprentices are permitted to sleep and make nests where ever they want, provided they came be easily rounded up by other clan-mates.
The founder of FeatherClan, Featherstar, is considered the father of night-time hunting, a trait which FeatherClan is famous for. The forest around them is set on a steep upward slope, and so FeatherClan has to be good and climbing both rocks and trees to patrol their territory.
FlightClan
FlightClan is a curious mix between RiverClan and ShadowClan. FlightClan excels at swimming and diving, but one of their best kept secrets is their 'Shadow Stalking', a easy, yet effective, way of sneaking up on enemy cats. They swim in the marshes, swamps, rivers and small lakes that riddle their territory. The long reeds also provide and effective barrier and shield when fighting. Unlike FeatherClan, FlightClan is a very social Clan that settles in the edge of their territory, next to the OutLands. They dig burrows and sometimes shelter in tufts of long marsh grass and under flax bushes. Their lifestyle is a laid-back one that often gets scorned at by warriors of a more hard working Clan, such as WingClan. FlightClan's territory is much smaller than the others, and takes much less to look after, and this they have plenty of time to relax with others.
The first leader of FlightClan was a selfless warrior queen named Lilystar. Lilystar left a legacy of mild, yet fiercely proud, warriors, who though more of others than themselves. This selflessness has, on occasion, torn apart he loyal Clan, one half of the Clan wanting to help one side of the augment, while the other wants to help every other cat.
WingClan
WingClan is the most taxing Clan to be part of. WingClan seems to have been first in line when they dish out the territory, because somehow, they have to work the hardest to keep their territory fully guarded. WingClan territory is set in the caverns and glades off the right of FlightClan. Their territory is almost fully underground. WingClan love getting their paws dirty, tunnelling, building or scaling the rocky cliffs for eagle nests, it makes no difference to them. WindClan cats are the most secretive of all three Clans, but they are also closest to MoonClan, the equivalent of StarClan. The Medicine Cats have always met every half-moon to share tongues with MoonClan at the base of WingClan territory, at the end of a small tunnel the Medicine Cats sleep and the base of a wall of drawings, next to a small waterfall.
Wingstar was actually the third leader for WingClan when they changed the name of his or her Clan. No-cat knows anything about Wingstar, since they made so few appearances, but he or she didn't need to appear when all they needed was their Clan. But it is common knowledge that Wingstar was the creator of all myths and legends, which is why Wingstar is often referred to as 'The Creator'.
MoonClan And The Medicine Cats
MoonClan is the three Clan's version of StarClan. As previously mentioned, Medicine Cats met up every second half moon to share with MoonClan, at the place of drawings. Long, long ago, the three most famous of the Clan's leaders, found the tunnel and the cave, and named it 'Quiet One's Fall'. The quiet one being MoonClan.
Ironically, the first Medicine Cat was born in FeatherClan, the most far away point from 'Quiet One's Fall' of all Clan territories. Her name was Doeheart. She originally trained as a warrior, but found that she physically could not hurt any cat, no matter how much they attacked her. And so Doeheart drifted away from the rest of FeatherClan, so much that they refused to claim her as a FeatherClan cat. So she chased the Moon, thinking that maybe it held the answer, and it did. She ran into FlightClan territory and made friends with a young tabby warrior named Sedgepool. She convinced Sedgepool to join her in her quest for the Moon. Together they found 'Quiet One's Fall'. They where travel wary and sore, so they rested next to the quiet waterfall and slept. They woke up inside a dream, with MoonClan by their side. They were told to go back to their Clans and spread their knowledge of MoonClan there. But first, they received the life of a Medicine Cat, an experience much like the gaining of a leader's nine lives. They learnt of herbs and their powers, and of MoonClan and their control over fates.
They Medicine Cats met up, half a moon later to find a small WingClan apprentice sleeping in their place. It turned out that the apprentice, who's name was Burrpaw, was to be the Medicine Cat for WingClan. And so all the Clans gained the experience of Medicine Cats.
Gatherings
Gatherings are almost exactly the same as gatherings in the lake or forest, except the Three Clans met at the Claw Moon, rather than Full Moon. They met where all the Clan territories touch, at a maze of small islands that cluster around a spire of rock that flattens at the top for a perfect stage. The Three Clans always have plenty of time to talk and share tongues with each other before the leaders report to the other Clans.
A/N:
What do you think? I'll post an actual chapter tomorrow, but I felt that I needed to give more detail about the Clans that I created before I started writing.
Please review! PLEASE? I need to know what you think!
