Warren Vidic was a scientist who worked for Abstergo. He saw a new employee enter through the door of his laboratory.
"Hello. I am Doctor Vidic. Who might you be?"
"My name is Lucy Stillman."
"I take it that you are here to help me with my experiments concerning the Animus?"
"I am. Is that it over ther?"
Stillman pointed at a bed-like machine in the middle of the room.
"It is. So far, we have only had ten test subjects in this machine. We have been working on this for a couple of decades now. I feel that we are making progress with each passing day."
"Are you having another test subject anytime soon?"
"We just need to find one."
A strange light appeared in the middle of the room. The glowing lasted for a few seconds. It disappeared, revealing a raccoon with a blue shirt, a blue hat, and a yellow cane in the shape of a question mark. It was standing like a human.
"Is that a raccoon?" Stillman asked.
"However did it get here? I wonder if it can speak. Greetings, fellow animal. How did you arrive here?"
The raccoon gave him a confused stare.
"Are you from this world?" Stillman asked.
Still no response.
"He must not speak our language," Vidic said.
"Then how will we find out about him? He looks very mysterious."
"Simple, actually. We shall place him in the Animus."
As Vidic stepped closer to the raccoon, it started to back away. He took another step. The raccoon put its cane around Vidic's foot and made him trip. He ran past Stillman and out through the door. He surprised the guards who stood in the hallway. They persued him until one of them was able to inject him with a serum. He started to fall asleep.
"Don't kill him!" Vidic said. "Place him in the Animus. He is to be Subject Eleven. You certainly picked an interesting day to start work here, Ms. Stillman."
