Disclaimer: I do not own the Hobbit.
Footsteps echoed across the silent stone halls. The air was damp and cold. Dis sighed. After years of torment, She finnaly was pursuaded to go back to Erebor. And when she asked to visit the tombs of her beloved sons, she asked to go alone.
"Durin help me..." She murmured. After walking in silence through the giant halls of her ancestors; she came to a lonely doorway. Dis knew what she would find inside. And after moments of ghastly silence, she walked inward.
The large, open room was dimly lit by a set of candles. It gave the tomb an eerie light. The candles were almost out of wax; they were lit long ago. She walked past them, and in the unearthly light, Dis saw them.
Two binary stones. Two beautifuly carved stone slabs lay out befor her. Dis gasped. They were the most stunning pieces of rock Dis has ever seen carved by dwarves. It looked heavenly in the dim light.
The dwarrowdam stepped lightly towards the left grave, and brushed it with her shaking hand.
Hold back your tears.
They hated to see you cry.
"It's all in vain..." Dis' voice sounded more dead then alive when she slouched agiants the firm stone of her son's final resting place. She left her tears to flow agiants numb cheeks. It was Frerin all over agian. But who was there to comfort her this time?
They were to young. To stupid. She should've never let them come. But alas! Thorin promised to protect them with his life. And Dis always trusted him.
If only her brother was with her now.
Dis remained on the cool, frigid floor and spotted somthing peculiar, on top of the crypt across from her. She grasped a small object that was on the stone, and and wiped the front with her tear stained fingers. Dwarvish runes were gracefully carved on the side. Dis reconized it at once.
"You never were good at keeping promises, you rascal..."
In my horrible mind, Dis dies of a broken heart. She lost everything she ever loved! ;_;
