Beck's behavior was uncharacteristic of the Beck everyone knew and loved. Jade saw that in a second. Normally if he had spoken down to her she would have gotten furious. There was no reason for it. She wasn't acting any differently then she always did. They weren't fighting. There was something in his voice. It wasn't anger. It was sadness. It was frustration. His smile was plastered. His calm tone was on the edge of a breakdown. Jade didn't know what was bothering Beck but she knew something was bothering him. There was no doubt about it. Beck wasn't surprised that Jade didn't listen to him. Nobody was. No girl in their right mind would listen when her boyfriend spoke to her like that. But what she did after shocked everyone to the core.

Jade's hand on Beck's shoulder somehow relaxed him. It always did. She spoke softly when she asked him, "Babe are you alright?". So many thoughts went through his mind. She wasn't angry. She wasn't telling him off. She wasn't rolling her eyes. She wasn't doing so many things that Jade would normally do. She was obviously concerned about him.

"Not really," he admitted, "I've been having a really bad week. I just found out that my childhood home burned down to the ground. I hadn't lived there in years of course but my horse still did. Pinky and she died. You know my car was destroyed by someone hitting the car. My allergies are acting up something awful. Oh and I just found out that I'm failing comedy class unless I can come up with a skit by tonight. So yeah… I'm sorry about what I said but I'm way upset right now"

"You have nothing to apologize for," Jade said, "You've been having a hell of a day EMPHASIS ON HELL. I can help you come up with the skit. I actually have some medication that can help you with your allergies. They help me when I'm having an allergy attack. We'll get your car fixed. And I'm really sorry about Pinky. I know how much you loved her but you have to know that she's in heaven right now and she's watching over you. We could even do something to honor her"
Beck smiled.
"I'd like that," he said, "Thanks Jade. You made me feel a lot better"
She gave him a hug. Then she looked at Tori.

"Now Vega to continue what I was saying," Jade said, "as much as I get annoyed by you sometimes you are probably the most beautiful soul I have met in a long time. You aren't perfect but you genuinely care about people. You're smart. You're funny. You're talented. It is stupid to let some idiot guy who doesn't know his brain from a hole in the wall get to you. He is a loser. He seriously doesn't know what he's missing".
Everyone stared at Jade as if she had announced she was an alien from another planet and showed her green skin or something.
"Okay, who are you and what did you do to Jade," Rex asked

"I am Jade," she replied, "I just grew up a little"

"More like a lot," Beck said, "You sounded like a real winner just now"
Jade hugged him.

"Thank you," Jade said, "I needed to hear that."
